In the overwhelming worries intermingled with fear, gathering our belongings felt like losing all hopes. My mom threw my clothes into a duffel bag, her hands shaking. "Cassandra called me yesterday," she revealed in a whisper. "She said Damon was serious about leaving you. She offered to help me get a job outside the Academy's territory if I made sure you never pursued this wolf dream again. I just wanted you to be safe, Annie. Said a female voice. "Daria?" I blinked, trying to clear my sight. “Yes, it’s me. Did you just have a bad dream?" I nodded. I swept my gaze around, realizing that I was in a prison cell. Daria was one of the maids in the Ashwood Pack, and if she was around, it could only mean one thing... I stood up straight and got to my feet right away. “Just stay still for a moment, I’m going to get the healer. You're still not feeling well."
