She felt proud of what she did for once, she did something good. The paint is same as the one outside excluding the shadow grey which would've made it look too manly and less homey. Inside is painted alabaster and corn. The corn wasn't painted but it's one those unique wallpapers that define royalty. Even the wallpapers are enclosed in square shaped p.o.p around it, one of them have a daisy clock that has the shape of a rose. The other two are empty of anything but it still manage to look stylish to her eyes. Just the way they shone in the light and how they brighten up the room is soothing to tensed muscles.

Inside is a wonderland. The contrast with the rest of the basement–which is stone, damp, and utilitarian–is immediately apparent. The walls are covered in a turquoise blue, with silver stars stamped all over, and wispy white clouds sponged on top. There's an ancient chandelier dripping in crystals hanging from the ceiling, casting rainbows everywhere. In the center of the biggest wall, a giant full moon is painted in glowing whites and silvers.

Too good. I’m not sure how I missed all of this last night, but if I’m being honest, the explanation probably involves the most dangerous mouth I’ve ever trusted with my dick. Or his ass. "Okay, I want something beautiful, that catches the eye immediately, but that isn't to in your face." I say and they all nod their heads, thinking about what I said. “What about dark blues, maybe some light blues inbetween with silver accents?” Asher’s mother suggests and my mother nods her head with a smile. “I like it. Moonlight tones.” She says, I open my mouth to speak but Anna beats me to it. “I like it, but no pastels, just the dark blue with silver.” She says and I nod my head. “Thank you, I was thinking the same.”

Even by my standards, this is over the top but anything that helps in putting down Dominic is a win for me. The room is enveloped in a dark gray color scheme that reminds me of a moonless night sky, with a polished black marble floor that subtly shines in the light, reflecting the sleek silver legs of the conference table. At the far end of the room stands a proud bronze statue of a wolf, mounted on a black marble base with intricate details highlighted, from its sharp claws to its textured fur, everything screams power.

But remember—you only do what you’re comfortable with.” We step further in, and the space unfurls around me like a hidden, dark fantasy brought to life. The room is vast and dimly lit, with low chandeliers casting a rich amber glow over velvet lounges, polished mahogany tables, and lush rugs. The colors are deep and seductive—shades of burgundy, obsidian, and dark emerald, muted enough to give the space an air of secrecy. Shadows linger in every corner, giving glimpses of movement without fully revealing details, preserving a sense of mystery.

The walls are slate gray, but the far wall, on the opposite side is the most breathtaking part of the entire room. A mural of the forest, with mountain cliffs, while the moon phases consume the night . That’s not the best part though, in the center sit three wolves. Two are a beautiful reddish brown, with spots of white, but the center is the most stunning one of all. She’s a creamy blonde, her fur glowing in the night. Hypnotic.

But the space was completely vacant. The room had plain, dark walls, a massive wooden bookshelf lining the left side, and a large mahogany desk to the right, facing the shelves. At the center of the room was a thick, round, deep blue carpet with a single plush black leather sofa resting on it. But the real beauty of it all was located at the far end with a massive glass wall that created a breathtaking view of the dark skyline.

“I’d hope we didn’t need to do this until the official meeting at the end of the year.” Chuckling, I sat down across from him. “I mean, you know I love this office.” It was true. He’d turned his office into a bit of a dark academia vibe. The walls were painted a dark blue with gold accents everywhere. There were black bookshelves lining two of the four walls and most were filled with leather bound editions. He’d added in a few more mystical pieces to complete the look. Plus, his desk was a huge dark wood centerpiece that was intricately craved with multiple wolves on the front.

The screen filled with beautiful images: soft creams and sage greens, blush pinks and deep navy accents, photos of elegant but simple centerpieces, arched floral backdrops, candle arrangements that looked like they belonged in a fairy tale. I shifted so I could sit in his lap properly. My back rested against his chest. His arms came around me, one hand resting on my stomach like it always did now. I scrolled slowly through the options. "I like this one," I said, pointing at a palette of ivory, pale gold, and dusty blue. "It feels calm. Clean. Like us." Maverick kissed the side of my neck. "I like it too. Simple. Elegant. No over-the-top drama."
