Dax had made the arduous trek to the shrine, knowing that it was his best chance for survival. The herb, known as Moonleaf, grew only in the darkest corners of the enchanted forest, guarded by mythical creatures and treacherous terrain. Lavender leaves give it a good scent. As I wheel my trolley towards the counter to make payment, another trolley boycotts me. I glance up at the owner of the trolley. Chloe? Why do I have to meet her here of all places?

Albert grabbed her hand, his voice tight with panic as he yelled to the servants outside, “Get the Pack Healer! It was used for potent painkillers and oinment, but it was also the primary ingredient for Moon Dust—the werewolf version of cocaine. Tristan had claimed his pack produced medicine, but she needed to know for sure.

Heat warmed my cheeks, carrying embarrassment that quickly faded when Sarah herself erupted in a fit of wet coughing. When I finally managed to stop, I realized I felt different.
