I love it thanks Mom. CASSIE'S POV:- As soon as I stepped in. Mouth watering aroma of vanilla and chocolate filled my lungs and I inhaled it as deep as I could. I ran to the kitchen. I saw a bucket full of cookies on the kitchen counter. Stella filled my mug with her special and yummy hot chocolate. I picked up a cookie and took a bite. It was delicious. Heavenly flavor of vanilla and chocolate burst into my mouth as I moaned excitedly. Stella's voice brought me back to earth.

“Still hasn’t arrived. And now, I’m craving it so badly it’s driving me insane.” Arden chuckled softly. “Cookies? All this gloom over cookies?” Asher looked up at him with mock seriousness. “You don’t understand. It’s not just cookies. They were special. Chocolate chip with almond bits. I made a small variety of shortbread, chocolate chip macadamia cookies, chocolate chip cookies, and macadamia cookies. The chocolate chips and nuts sunk deeply into the soft, baked dough, making sure that the eater had a taste of them with each and every bite. "If Timothy stops eatin' them they'll be more than enough." Raven sneered.

"All set. You've got 12 chocolate chip, 6 peanut butter, and 6 snickerdoodles." He flashes a smirk and gives me a once-over. "Is this some sort of trick question?" he teases. I respond with a smirk of my own, closing the boxes. "Clever," I say, "Enjoy your cookies, Mr. Adams." He glances at my name tag and nods approvingly. "That works." With boxes in hand, he exits the shop, leaving behind a parting wink. I offer a friendly shake of my head. Boys. Afterward, I check a text message from Avery that had arrived a few minutes before closing time:

From my seated position, the cookies are at perfect eye level, and against my better judgment, I pick one off the top of the pile. It's dark brown and brittle. A few pieces flick off as I lower the cookie closer to the small plate my cup of coffee sits on. Burnt doesn't begin to describe the abomination in my hand. It looks like she put the cookie through torture. "What kind are they?" I ask before bringing the cookie to my lips. "Chocolate chip." Tabitha grins, looking down at the plate. "They're a little burnt." A little burnt is an understatement. That's like saying the Titanic nudged an icicle.
