The room was deathly silent except for the frantic beat of my heart in my ears. His low voice and the one from my dreams overlapped, weaving into a single key that unlocked my carefully built self-deception with a sharp click. He was Mr. Y—the man who sang off-key love songs to me at midnight, and the very same one who had chastised me relentlessly in the day. I stared at him. His handsome face was so close, and the usual coldness and distance were gone, replaced by a fragile, pleading vulnerability. The light in his eyes flickered like a candle tossed all night by a stormy wind.

Dre got out of bed still in his underwear. Ethan sat in the sitting room, wearing running clothes and a white towel over his shoulder. “Where are we running to?” Dre asked, shocked. “It’s time for your morning run. Your schedule requires you to keep your feet moving,” Jax said, showing his tablet. “Are we wizards or something? This is 5 a.m.!” Dre exclaimed. “It’s not midnight—it’s 5 a.m. You’ll get used to it,” Jax said. The door opened, and another woman entered. Her eyes met Jax’s briefly before she looked away; they clearly had some tension.

He glanced up at the poster again before closing his eyes, the image of the dark knight and Snow bright in his mind. The two people Sakura didn’t want to see most, Tara and Alaina, finally arrived at half past four the next morning, waking Sakura from her very strange dream. In the dream, she was surrounded by seven faceless men. Of course, these people were always faceless in dreams, though her gut instinct seemed to know who they were. Her stomach flipped and she sighed. She couldn’t believe she had to dream about the brothers. What was wrong with her? Not to mention the fact that one of them had kissed her. She thought it must have been Sebastian. Or was it Darcy? Conrad?

Tessa took his hand and pulled him down the hall. As he entered the room, he looked at Jennah and Dom and couldn’t help think that this scene started because of a dream. He was looking through me, not at me. “System!” I screamed. “You’re killing him!”

Drakken woke up with a start, sweat pouring down his face. He had just had a terrible dream, one where his deceased mother was crying out for justice. In the dream, she told him that evil was lurking within the Kingdom, brought by a stranger. The stranger was the only one in the pack who didn't belong, and she warned him to be careful. The dream was so vivid that it felt real, and it left Drakken feeling uneasy.
