But what was done was done, at this time they could only make sure that something like this wouldn't happen again. But Asher was insistent on taking revenge on behalf of Kira. He didn't even know what enemy they were going to face. Her father had said something about the Dark Wolves, Alex had only heard about them from this store as her grandfather used to tell her when she was a little girl. The Dark Wolves were said to be the first-ever wolf pack to have existed, at that time they coexisted with vampires and Dragons, and they lived peacefully before war broke out. And somehow they had gotten wiped out, just like the Dragons. T

“First I’m a rabid wolf and now a savage beast. Is that how you plan on doing it? You’re just going to insult me to death?” “Not her, foolish human.” The god shook his head, messing up that perfect ebony hair of his. “I’m talking about him.” Even I had the sense to scoot back as a massive wolf sauntered in through the open doorway. Its fur was the color of fresh snow, made brighter by his eyes which were of the deepest, darkest blue. Its tongue flicked out to lick its muzzle. All the while it stalked Duncan with murderous intent. I might’ve felt bad for the guy if he wasn’t a raging, misogynistic prick.

Without hesitation, Blaze leaps into the fray, his fur bristling with fury as he launches himself at the nearest rogue, teeth flashing in a display of primal dominance. Alexa and Dexter, their own wolf form a blur of motion and grace, and join Blaze in the fight, their movements fluid and coordinating as they engage the rogues with a fierce determination. Alexa's sleek black fur glistens in the moonlight as she dances around her opponents, her agility a testament to her skill in combat. Dexter, a massive gray wolf with eyes as sharp as flint, moved with calculated precision, his strength a formidable force to be reckoned with.

The wolves surrounded him, ready to take his life as they were commanded not to leave any survivors except the Alpha's daughter. Then, two wolves burst from the shadows and suddenly started attacking the rogues. One was a huge black wolf, twice the size of all the other wolves, and the other was a brown wolf. The huge black wolf’s eyes gleamed red, symbolizing that he was an Alpha, but that wasn't what made the rogues fear him—the mark on the wolf's face made them recognize him as Alpha Kayden and without waiting, they all took to their heels.

But he still looks meek against Fenrir. Fenrir was twice his size. A giant wolf, perhaps passing for a Lycan, the largest but long-extinct werewolf race. Fenrir’s wolf was skinnier but was evidently muscled and agile. He was a midnight black wolf, who had rich fur, and his dark eyes were more slanted, like that of a fox’s—unlike Flavian’s round, doe-like eyes. They were the perfect polar opposites. Their stark contrast, as much as I hate to admit it, is a fascinating thing to witness.

"But it won't be enough. You can't hide from the truth forever." With a wave of his hand, Drax summoned a horde of shadow wolves from the darkness. They emerged from the shadows, their forms flickering like dying flames, their eyes burning with the same malevolent fire that burned in Drax's gaze. The wolves snarled and growled, their teeth bared in a chorus of hatred and violence.

It was no exaggeration to say that Ebony married me in the wedding of the century. I also noticed that every flower in the wedding hall was fake, although that must have been arranged that way because I liked flowers but was also allergic to pollen. While I was still left surprised by how Ebony knew about my preferences, we all heard a wolf's howl from outside the building. Soon, a servant came in to inform us that a Lycan had gone amok outside in his beast form and was clawing the gate outside.

I crouched beside him, brushing wet strands from her face. I froze when I recognized who she was. Well, I had no idea who exactly she was. But I knew she was either Chloe or Halle. One of the daughters of Wilder. Wilder was the Alpha of the Moonbeam pack. He was someone I could never forget. After he killed most members of our pack unprovoked a few years ago, I had been keeping tabs on him, waiting for the right time to strike. This was the perfect opportunity. Wilder would finally pay for his sins.

Every day seemed bigger than the last. Everyone was in their wolf form today. Miriam and I stood opposite, with beautiful giant wolves on each side. My father’s salt and pepper wolf was the largest. Magnus and Ghost’s black wolves were just as muscular but less bulky. Diesel’s brown wolf was the smallest but the most spry. “Using your powers, I want you to neutralize the situation without causing harm to each wolf,” Miriam’s voice cut through the tense air, setting the stage for a challenging training session.

Time is wasted enough without having to add to this trivial problem. The wolf Elder Brahma growled again, this time sending command through mind to all the wolves at once to Linda. In a flash, the nine wolves and a vampire-woman were already running at inhuman speeds. The sky was completely dark as they cut through the silence of the forest. The smaller beasts quickly moved aside before the demon wolves passed them. A few minutes later Linda and the wolf group stopped the run at an opening that was wide enough. The wolf Elder Brahma roared, then growled several times and took a few steps back. The others followed.
