My dagger sliced through the card. I jumped from the tree branch and retrieving my dagger as I appeared in front of the cat. "Lowan, what are you doing?" I yelled. Lowan came into sight from the shadows with a sinister look on his smug face. It was obvious that something was indeed wrong. This isn’t the Lowan I know; it was an impostor just like the fairy Mahalia who brought us here in the first place. If I remember correctly, Cass and Lowan called them dalaketnon.

“Watch everything. Trust no one. Not tonight.” The figure paused, hesitation in its step, then retreated into the fog. But the tension didn’t fade. My chest heaved, mind racing with fear and exhilaration. He turned to me, eyes smoldering. “You see? Even the past… even the lies… they follow us. But it doesn’t matter. Because fire… fire consumes all.” “Even me?” I whispered, voice trembling. “Even my heart, my mind… my everything?” “Yes,” he murmured, fingers brushing my cheek, pulling me closer. “Because once you surrender… fully… there’s no turning back. And you… you’ve already surrendered.”

As the men dragged the battered captive away, his sudden scream pierced the air, echoing off the damp walls of the abandoned building. “Aiden! Wait!” the man shouted, desperation lacing his voice. “You need to know more! The Serpent... he has people working for him, and they call themselves The Shadows!” Aiden paused, curiosity piqued. He turned back, narrowing his eyes. “What about The Shadows?” The man gulped, fear evident in his trembling hands. “They’re the ones who do the dirty work for him. They’re ruthless and merciless, and they’re looking for someone—someone named Vladimir Albert Darkclaw. He’s the one you need to be worried about!”

Atlas slowly walks up to me and crouches down to wipe the blood off my face as I stare at Thalia waiting for... something, any sign of life. "Sorry Wolfy, I was too late." He says as he looks at Thalia's body while Shaun drags the man to the spot where he tied up the others.

He quickly changed the topic and said, "Thank you, Caspian! First of all, thank you for saving me!" Everyone knew Bowen Pullman’s character, so they let him be crazy.
