With the sight, I was properly terrified now and I didn’t want to cry but tears kept glossing up my eyes and trailing out on their own accord— I was giving the Dark One every bit of the reaction he wanted and he was reveling in it. “The Champion of the Reigns, the so-called Chosen One, is finally at my mercy.” He started to say now in his glee and his volume was high as if he was addressing a crowd and not just me. “Finally the world shall understand that Darkness is not inferior to light— That light glows only because Darkness permits it, that light is pronounced only because the darkness diminishes itself, but not any longer!” He voiced.

The sky was dark save for the moon that hung low in the sky it casts a strange glow over the kingdom. Inside the palace, the tension was real. The king and his subjects watched as he performed his rituals, making strange sounds and incantations. The wizard's screams echoed through the huge hall, a sound that would haunt the memories of those who heard it for years to come. "Doom! Doom is coming!" he cried, his voice trembling with fear. "A werewolf will bring ruin to us all!"

“What do you mean trapped? I didn’t come here to stay. I came to find my children.” “Children... yes. You’ll forget them soon enough once I’ve drained you. Every ounce of light, every ounce of power—you’ll give it to me. Piece by piece." My stomach dropped. As the familiar chill of fear rooted itself in my bones. Still, I forced myself to speak. “Who are you?” I demanded again, louder this time. The voice hummed, as if amused by my attempt at defiance. “I am darkness itself,” it whispered. “I am what your kind fears but cannot name. I am your worst nightmare.”

Then… he turned to Zara again. His smile returned. Wide. Sinister. Mocking. He stepped forward with the grace of a predator and leaned in close, his voice dripping with venomous sarcasm. “Well, Zara,” he said softly. “Are you enjoying tonight’s rare opera performance?” Zara choked on a sob. Her voice was gone. Her pride shattered. Her soul? Barely holding on. Damian tilted her chin up with two fingers. “You see,” he whispered, “you thought you were walking into a game of shadows. But darling… I am the darkness itself.”

Her eyes glowed with a mysterious, dark fire, like embers beneath the ashes, filling her heart with an irresistible cruelty. Malek began to drive slowly, every movement calculated, as if they were controlling time itself. The surrounding sounds faded, even the silence felt deafening, and the heavy air pressed against their chests.
