"Sorry, miss, today's tickets are sold out." "Sold out?" Maria's heart sank. "When's the earliest ticket available?" "Tomorrow at six in the morning. About thirteen hours from now,” the clerk said.

Returning from the stock shelves with a part for another customer, the second adds, “Buddy of ours works for a woman, Grace. Both the tractor and piano are hers.” “Ahhh,” the boss says knowingly. “This buddy wouldn’t happen to like Grace, would he?” “Oh, yeah. I don’t know how anyone couldn’t,” one twenty-something chuckles. “She’s phenomenally hot.” “Legendary. Launch-a-thousand-ships hot,” the other adds. “The poor guy needs all the help he can get.” It’s all I need to hear. Eighty years ago, ‘Grace’ might have been a common woman’s name, but it’s not now. And one with a ‘strange old piano’ and needing a tractor part, that’s too much coincidence.

"How are you today?" A smile played on my lips as I settled onto one of the worn seats in front of the counter. "I am good, Grace. How are you?" Grace's warm smile widened. "Eh, I am good. What can I get for you today?" After placing my order, I found myself engaged in a heartfelt conversation with Grace. Time seemed to slow down as I shared my dreams of becoming a writer, the struggles I had overcome, and the burning desire to create something meaningful. She listened attentively, interweaving her own tales of perseverance and resilience amidst the challenges she had faced.

Grace noticed that he wasn't moving, she sighed softly. "Come inside, I'll give you time to talk but only until I arrive at the 13th floor, no more chances." Denver immediately came inside. Grace pressed the button and the lift closed. "Thank you for this. I promise I won't waste your time. Whatever I say, please do me a favor, can you pass them to her?” Grace just looked at him and said nothing. “How have you been? How's life after all these years? Have you missed me? I missed you. With all the days that pass. I know I've hurt you, but what can I do? You left me, it was too late when I realized I love you."

Upon returning home, I went to my grandfather's room, picked up his photo, and held it close. "Grandpa, I'm sorry. I couldn't live the way you wanted. "You said that if I like someone, I should boldly pursue him without leaving any regrets. "But, Grandpa, it's been so tiring for me to keep pursuing, and I've given up. "Can I come over to your side to keep you company, Grandpa? If I don’t hear a reply from you, I’ll consider your silence as consent."

Some lingered briefly, while others left without mercy. After everything we went through, we would all end up dying alone. … "Wynn," Hector softly called out to me. I reached out and gently caressed his face. "I'm here." Deep down, I muttered, "Oh, Wynn Carrington… It's never too late to turn back…"
