Frost was found two hours later. A security team to the coordinates Vael gave, a compact site that read as a decommissioned water treatment facility from the outside and was something considerably older inside, and the real Frost in a suspended hold exactly as Vael had described — sitting, breathing, eyes closed, dreamless. He woke inside sixty seconds of the hold being released and spent the first twenty minutes being deeply confused and the next hour being extremely focused, which was, Ava had learned, simply his personality on a sliding scale.

"Her name is Frost. She was Morpheus's second, before Umbra. She did not sleep. She waited. She is older than Morpheus, colder than Umbra." "Can we reach her?" "No. She will not listen. She believes the Circle is a sickness. She wants to cure it." --- The council gathered. Morpheus stood apart, his ancient face troubled. Umbra sat beside him, still thawing, still uncertain. "Frost was my sister," Morpheus said. The room went silent. "Not by blood—by purpose. We built the frozen kingdom together. When I chose to thaw, she chose to remain. She has been preparing for this moment ever since."
