Wolves surrounded them chanting in ancient tongues while silver fire consumed the sky. “The bloodline sought immortality,” she whispered. Fear rose inside me. “What happened?” Her expression became haunted. “They challenged the gods.” The world exploded into chaos around us. Creatures screamed from the darkness. The earth cracked open. Silver fire turned black. Wolves transformed into monstrous things. And standing in the center of the destruction, a man with glowing golden eyes.
