"Sehrize, it's me." A deep voice made Sehrize know that the man was a colleague who worked with her to complete all missions in Switzerland.She immediately opened the door quickly, letting Glade in.Sehrize could only stare at her friend's arrival with curiosity.They had different places to live, but tonight Glade came to her, in very bad weather it was cold and it was late at night. The high-latitude winds howling off the Northern Ice Shelf were vicious, carrying needles of frozen sleet that rattled against the reinforced glass windows of the Frost-Strider,the empire’s heavily armored arctic transport rig. Inside the heated main cabin, Queen Elena sat before a portable chemical centrifuge, watching three distinct layers of pale-blue liquid separate in a sealed glass vial. "The fluorosulfuric residue contains trace elements of Glacial Phosphorite," Elena analyzed, her voice completely steady despite the violent lurching of the transport over the tundra ice. "That mineral only forms in the volcanic thermal tubes beneath the Frost-Fang Mountains."

“Follow me, please.” We trailed after him, weaving through the crowd until we reached our seats… right at the edge of the rink. So close I could see the ice clearly, the lights reflecting off it like glass. “Oh my God,” Zoe whispered. “These seats are insane.” My hands were cold. Or maybe that was just my nerves. The lights dimmed slightly. Music blasted through the speakers. One by one, the players walked out onto the ice. And then I saw him. Ronan.

“You don’t tremble like the others.” “Should I?” she whispered. “No.” His answer came too quickly. Too firm. He looked away, like he had revealed something he didn’t intend to. Then he handed her a small velvet box. Elara blinked. “What’s this?” “Open it.” Inside was a thin silver bracelet with a tiny flame symbol carved into it. “It’s a tracking cuff,” he said. “But it will never hurt you unless you break the rules.” Elara hesitated. “Does every slave get one?”
