I shouted, grabbing Zayn by the back of his jacket and yanking him behind the nearest stack of crates.
Gunfire erupted instantly. Loud, unrelenting, the kind that rattled your bones and sent your heartbeat into overdrive. Bullets tore through wood and metal, a storm of lead and fire.
Delgado didn’t even have a chance to react.
He turned toward the sound—too slow, too trusting. The first shot hit him square in the chest, flinging him backward. The second tore through his throat. He collapsed like a puppet with its strings cut, gurgling as blood pooled rapidly beneath him, soaking into the concrete.
