C67: A Lesson For Maya Mrs Ray walked into the hall with her usual stern expression. The females shut their lips instantly. Everyone stood up at once and greeted the elderly woman. "Good morning, Mrs Ray." She hummed softly “Good Morning to you too” she said with a calm expression. "You may sit." The females sat down obediently. Mrs Ray glanced around the hall before speaking. "I have heard positive reports regarding your training." Several females straightened proudly, Raine smiled to herself.

“Oh no! It's nothing like that, ma’am.” She just looked unconvinced. “Sure. Let’s start the introduction, shall we?” She straightened and dusted nonexistent dirt from her ironed uniform. “I'm Mrs. Banks, the housekeeper of this grand house, and I'm now your…” She paused. “Shall we say caretaker?”

The company needs this. She squeezed her eyes shut, trying to banish the haunting image of the mountain of debt that had plagued her sleep for months. "Niana? Are you still in there?" Patricia’s voice drifted through the door, followed by a rhythmic, gentle knock. "The Millers are downstairs. Don’t keep them waiting too long, darling. First impressions are everything."

Simon now felt like a stranger to me. “Madam you’re back” Martha rushed up to me and engulfed me in a hug. She was the head maid and probably the closest thing to a friend that I had in here. “How is the baby?” she asked worried and tears welled up in my eyes again. “I’m so sorry” she said and hugged me tighter. I allowed her to hold me for a few more minutes, just basking in the warmth before I finally pulled away, wiping my tears. “Has Simon been home recently?” I asked even though I already knew the answer to all of that she shook her head “no Madam” I simply nodded my head.

They all came from the woman whom he was supposed to meet last night. “Clarice Grant. What now?” Lynn decided to open her messages and realized that she’s really angry.
