Buried. Death certificate issued. Case closed. Sebastian frowned. "That's impossible." Gabriel nodded slowly. "I attended the funeral." Blackwood looked equally confused. "So did I." Rebecca looked from one face to another. "If he died..." She swallowed. "...whose fingerprints were on Daniel's envelope?" Silence. Sarah zoomed in on the article. A tiny detail caught her attention. The funeral photograph. Six men stood beside the grave. Five wore black suits. One wore a dark overcoat.

“You’ve got my attention. But I need to know how you got this information. And I want to hear it all, starting from the beginning.” I took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the moment settle over me. “It’s a long story,” I said, glancing at Luca, who nodded encouragingly. “But it starts with a murder. Lorenzo Benedetti was killed, but it was part of a larger plan. His allies are still out there, and they’re more dangerous than ever.” Detective Martinez waved us into his office, and we followed him inside, the door clicking shut behind us. His eyes fix on me a few seconds longer than I'm comfortable with but finally, he turns away and scribbles on his notebook. “Does this whole scenario seem familiar, Luna?”. Again, I find myself swallowing subconsciously. I can't help it, I'm so nervous that my throat is dry to the point of cracking. “What are you talking about?”. Bobby read the note and stared at me with bulging eyes. “It’s a suicide note!” My heart jumped aggressively in my chest. Why would she kill herself?

She had put in on the right way, then taped it so it would not slip, but also so it did not constrain her breathing. "Very good, you have it exactly right," I said. "Have you, perhaps, worn one in the past?" "Mumzy tried tight leather ones on step-creature number three. She did the thing with straws?" I knew what she meant. "But she got distracted by a phone call once... he didn't last too long." Death Note brought the briefcase closer to him and he opened it. In it was a pen. "This is fake" Death Note stated with anger after observing the pen and he broke it after. I woke up early, got dressed and packed. With about twenty minutes to spare before I needed to be heading out, I logged into my Moon Shadow laptop to check on the investigation of the murders. Armageddon had added several files to my research folder including a few other attacks that had resulted in deaths with the same pattern as the others and the case file of Bella’s orchestrated attack. My heart lurched. Did Armageddon know it was me? I had only been offline for a week. That wasn’t unusual.

I muttered. “I'll write her name in my Death Note,” she promised. I glanced at her. “I won't stop you.” “What are you two whispering about?” Eleonor squeezed in between us. “We're just planning a murder.” Joy shrugged, and Eleonor's eyes widened. For a moment, I stopped breathing. I couldn't believe Joy said it so casually, but then Eleonor smirked and asked, “And who will be the unlucky victim?” “The blond-haired, half-brained creature in the red dress, standing in front of us,” Joy answered.
