With this information, you may collect alibis and prepare for your trial.” With that, the Loudspeaker shut off, and I hurried to finish up my handwritten file. Once I finished with my handwritten version, I decided to start my alibi searching with the people I started this investigation with, as I approached Liam and Akira. “Hey, Liam, Akira,” I started, holding up the notebook, “You guys got any alibis?”

Maybe I'd been too quick to dismiss his protective measures as controlling. When I reached the apartment, I locked the door behind me and sank onto the couch, pulling the crumpled note from my pocket. I stared at the crude drawing, trying to make sense of it. I reached out and took it in my hand. An unfamiliar name appeared, along with the details of death. “Clark Stephen Daniel,” I muttered with a sigh. “Your time has come. I’m coming to collect,” I whispered, my voice void of warmth. It was time to reap his soul. The details were clear—he would die tonight, inside a nightclub.

“Will the Death Judge be able to catch the eviscerator this time? He was just broadcasting live in Concord City. Will he be able to make it in time to rush to Los Angeles?” Judy stopped her fingers that were flying on the keyboard and said, “Not necessarily. This video is very blurry. I tried just now, but it was very difficult to improve the clarity. There is not much effective information that can be extracted. The Los Angeles police might not be able to catch the murderer with it. But the Death Judge is different.
