MY TABOO STEP DADDY
Her pen trembles in her grip.
She knows my scent. Knows I don't pay empty visits. The very schemes she’s helped us bury will drown her.
Her arms shoot out, reaching for the telephone on her desk. I throw my dagger, the pointy end sticking into the wood. Two inches from her fingers.
“I didn’t miss,” I say calmly. Too calm. Like I’m not about to murder someone. “It’s been a long time, Martha.”
“Your sister—”
“Is dead.” I push from the wall, tug down the curtains, and switch off the lights. Rays of moonlight illuminate the room, cloaking us in an ethereal blue. The bitch is about to meet her maker. “We have a code.”
