The Runaway Heiress:Seven Days of Sin

The Runaway Heiress:Seven Days of Sin

“It’s the date this codicil was approved by your father.” I stared as my chest tightened. “Why?” he asked. “Is it significant?” My head bobbed, though I couldn’t form the words. “I-it’s the day he died.” The young man beside me sucked in a breath. “Th-that…” He stammered, “can’t be right. Maybe it’s a typo?” “It could be right. He died during the evening, a heart attack after he fell asleep.” They say that a quick and painless death is like being kissed by an angel. I always wondered how he warranted a kiss. Maybe this codicil was it?

Death's Favorite

Death's Favorite

‎‎I watched him intently, trying to understand the meaning behind his action but it wasn't until he walked away that I carefully obliged, and not because I wanted to but because my legs were indeed starting to hurt and I, myself, hadn't noticed. ‎"Is this what you people do before you kill someone off? Gentle care before a quick execution? Die-with-the-feeling-that-you-were-cared-for-before-your-last-breath kind of thing?" ‎Those were the words that laced my lips instead of a thank you. My bones were tensed but I couldn't let down my guard around either of them. ‎Kael let out an amused chuckle but as Kiean stood to his feet, the laughter faded into a cough.

The Art Of Dying

The Art Of Dying

I give them paradise. "At the cost of their existence," Axel said. His dagger was out now, flames flickering along the blade. "They're not living. They're being slowly erased while dreaming about lives they'll never have." *And isn't that better than what you face? Fighting your way to a Core that might not save you? Facing administrators who want you dead? At least here, you die happy.* The buildings around us started to move. The walls rippled like water. The peaceful deadies we'd seen earlier were appearing again but this time their eyes were wrong. Empty. Controlled.

Declared Dead, Replaced by a Fraud

Declared Dead, Replaced by a Fraud

Then she walked up to me, viciously grinding her foot into my wound, using my blood as ink to press down her handprint. After finishing all this, she revealed a cruel smile. "Let him go," she ordered the security guards before saying to me, "John, you know? Your look of despair was just like your mother's before she died. On the day I went to court to declare you dead, I deliberately delivered the good news to your mother. Who would have thought that she'd be so frail? She passed away due to a heart attack." Nora did not have an ounce of pity on her face, only provocation.

Knotting the Hunter

Knotting the Hunter

"Not just this thing. The smell. Under the rot." I've been choking on the rot. I push past it. And there it is. The same wrongness that was carved into the birch. I study the thing we killed. I’ve seen enough dead to know the stages of decomposition. This didn't die Tuesday with a cute phone in its pocket. "It's old," I say. "Been dead a long time." Dax goes still. "The ones going missing," he says slowly. "They're disappearing alive." "Yeah." "So this isn't one of them."

This book is so good! The 3 books I’ve read so far from this author are on my top 5 favorite on this app and this one is about to be #4! Love the writing style and love the humor in the story. I’m rooting for Dax and Noah!

Really enjoying this book so far, this is definitely one of my favorites male male books I've read on here. Quinn is really good at those it seems. Especially the relationships, but the side characters and conflict are super compelling too. Excited to read more.

One Sentence Before Death

One Sentence Before Death

The corpse had been soaked beyond recognition, but there was something deeply unsettling about it. The smile on his face was exactly the same as the one Grandpa and my brother had worn when they died. The police found it disturbing. After all, drowning alive was supposed to be agonizing. The body instinctively struggled against death. How could a person's final expression possibly be a smile? When my mother saw my father's body, she finally cried. But as she wiped away her tears, the corners of her mouth slowly lifted. Before long, she was laughing uncontrollably.

The Debt Was Fake, But My Death Was Real

The Debt Was Fake, But My Death Was Real

“The police and FDA investigators have been looking into groups like this for months.” My mother covered her mouth. Adrian looked at the waiver as if it had turned into a weapon in his hands. My father lowered the papers. For the first time since he entered the room, he looked old. The monitor gave one long, empty tone. A paramedic checked the clock. “Time of death, 6:27 a.m.” My mother collapsed into sobs. Adrian shut his eyes. My father stood there with the waiver trembling in his hand.

Rejected and Torn between Alphas

Rejected and Torn between Alphas

He used to be strong and unwavering. "You can get up now. There's no use for all these, you know." I tried to sound firm, but deep down inside of me, I knew how much he'd hurt. His other half is now gone. Death is the great awakening, a call to embrace the mystery that lies beyond the veil of the mundane. It is the ultimate transformation, a journey from the fleeting to the eternal, from the temporal to the timeless. Like a river flowing into the ocean, death sweeps us away from the shores of the familiar, carrying us into the depths of the unknown. And yet, even as we disappear into its vastness, we become one with the universe, our essence merging with the infinite.

I have never and I mean NEVER understood why omegas are treated so harshly in werewolves stories. The stigma against them is beyond disheartening. I feel so bad for Callista and Dahlia, they don't deserve all the harsh treatment.
Janette
who could have poisoned Imogen? I sure know that Dahlia pulled out those stunts just so she could have Calista killed. I'm happy she was thrown into prison. She's betraying everyone, but for what exactly?

Death is the only Escape

Death is the only Escape

Those guards were now trying to get away from the smoke, which was making them long for air. Oliver moved a little further towards the other side of the warehouse and then suddenly froze. Thomas and his assistant walked up to him. Thomas's eyes widened as he looked at what Olive was staring at for so long. They both stared at the brick wall, which was covered with cement and painted in grey. The catch here was that something was written on it- with blood. "See you soon..." "It's her..." Oliver said and stepped back. He looked kinda horrified. "How can it be??" Thomas said and was shocked to the core. "SHE DIED SIX YEARS AGO!!" As always, he started shouted when he got frustrated.
