I told Caleb that his twin had been missing for a long time—that something tragic had happened during their birth, and we thought we lost one of them, but now, by the grace of the Moon Goddess, he had returned.
“He looks like me,” Caleb said thoughtfully as he stood a few feet from the boy, who sat at the table staring at his bowl of fruit without touching it.
“You share the same blood,” I told him. “You were born together. He’s your other half.”
Caleb smiled. “I always wanted a twin.”
I placed my hand on his shoulder and smiled, warm and motherly. “And now you have one.”
