I cut him off before he finishes, "No, I want this, and I'm getting it." The manager's eyes turned cold, "Well, I'm afraid you can't purchase this." He pulled out the Jean from my hands and continued chatting with my cloth rival like I wasn't there. I glanced around looking for something, anything to lash out my anger on. Fortunately, I saw a pair of scissors on a shelf, by my right. Perfect! I picked it up, sauntered over to them, and forcefully took the Jean from the manager's hand before speaking, "You know... In the Bible, Solomon asked those women to divide the baby into two, so it's only right if we divide these Jean into two, don't you think?" I asked sweetly.

Thirty seconds later, the room was silent again, save for the hiss of the gas. "All pages sent," The Glitch said, her voice dropping to a whisper. "The Librarian’s accounts are being frozen by his own investors. He’s officially a liability, Alessandro. He’s 'red' on every board in the world." Alessandro walked back to the terminal and grabbed the "Bridge." He didn't look at the fallen men. He looked at the hole in the wall he had made. "Caro, get to the extraction point," Alessandro said. "The Librarian is no longer the auditor. He’s the one being audited."

The ensuing silence, filled with her shallow breaths, seemed to last forever until it was broken by her meek, yet firm refusal. "No!" Her hazel gaze locked with his fierce, gray ones. "I-I won't do it." Kevin clenched his teeth, fury simmering in his gaze. The sting of her rejection sliced through him like a thousand knives. He had already reached the limit of his patience and here she was pushing him even further. "Do you hear yourself?" Kevin took a step nearer, exuding authority, and Emma found her determination dwindling. "I-I can't do it," Emma unconsciously took a step back.

#angryrant I am never one to complain about a reader’s criticism, but when it’s done with malicious intent, I can’t stand it. The reader Jane rated my book 1½ over 5 stars because the chapter is short (every short chapter is followed by a long chapter to maintain balance) my editor when I started on GN advised me to write shorter chapters so readers can easily afford it and not complain about too much coin.
