I hated how she thought she could push back, how she believed she could keep up this pretense of hate when her body told a completely different story. She wanted me. Just as much as I wanted her. All the hurt and pain that I thought I had let go of when it came to my family comes crashing back over me with an unforgiving force. I never understood why I was cursed as a second chance mate.
