My life wasn’t what I had just experienced. The Hunter in me kicked into overdrive. I pulled my knife from its holster, ripping my lips from Max’s and attempted to shove my knife between his ribs through his chest. He was too fast and grabbed my knife with his hand. I watched as the silver burned his palm, but he didn’t make a sound, he just threw the knife from my hand across the room.

Lukas was done when two people spoke “ I don't agree with her being our Luna” they said in unison “ What your reason” I can see he is trying to control his anger “She’s human.” They spoke in unison and people began t o murmur. “She’s a hunter.” “She’s weak.”

She watched him rub his nose as he said these things and remembered some rumors and gossips she heard about a blond guy from the senior years of the Academy. "You're that guy. Anthony Reeves—the Yankee?," she asked but was answered with silence. She sighed and leaned back. "You... haven't shown up at the graduation ceremony, have you?" Anthony looked at her and frowned. "Yeah! Yeah. What a sad story...blah blah," he replied sarcastically as he lay on his back at the other end of the couch, putting some distance between them. "I didn't mean it like...that," Iktanne gasped as she stared at him, wide-eyed.

I don’t care if being away from him would kill me. “Lana, you have to come back!” He tries to order me, but I keep moving. Hoping and praying that I could put enough distance between us. He keeps speaking to me. Pleading and begging that I come back. “I, Lana Decker, the Alpha of Alpha’s, reject you, Alpha Blake Nightshade as my mate.” I speak the words out loud. The words that hadn’t worked when I had said them to Logan. “No, Lana. You can’t!”

“I’m Hunter, Hunter Slater. You can come with me.” Alpha Drake pushed him aside, grabbed my arm and pulled me upright. “Enough! We are leaving.” Alpha Drake’s nails punctured the soft flesh of my arm. He dragged me away from Hunter. Hunter leapt forward. He got hold of my wrist. “I will rip you to shreds, Alpha Drake! Let go of my mate. NOW!” his voice boomed through the banquet hall. A tense hush fell over the room and all eyes turned to the scene enfolding.

“12 out of 21 deer have been killed by this hunter.” Holding my spear, I am trying to catch my breath while paying my whole attention to the keeper. Keepers are the one who has the information of how many kills a hunter has in an hour. “None other than, Raffi of the Ambrose’s!” I saw my father fixing his hunter’s robe while wearing his huge smile. The whole tribe is excited especially the women of which gender I belong to. I started to walk to the wooden stage created by the tribe for this kind of ceremony. Everybody is happy and I hope this will last forever.

He starts to head off to his room but I get in his line of sight and stop him first. “Kade! What the hell happened to you? Why are you so grumpy?” “Huh?” he asks, finally registering that it’s me in front of him. “Oh, sorry. Nothing happened, I’m not grumpy. Saw the rogue, but there was already a hunter on him and they took him down before he crossed over. That’s it, end of story,” he says shortly. “Really? And it was the same spot that the human was found at, right?”

She took a few shots of what happened and stood there watching with a slow surge of panic that slowly built up in her body. Just as she was there staring at the scene, the sharp eyes of the Z clan men went in the direction where Thyra stood on the cliff. Thyra noticed this too but didn't falter her gaze as it looked as if they were engaged in an eye battle. One of the Z clan men muttered to his colleagues, "She is going to be the first hunt of Alpha Ryker." On hearing this, Alpha Ryker's eyes quickly spun in the direction where the Z clan men stared with a glare so ferocious that if it were possible, Thyra would have fallen dead immediately. “We all know the only way hunters would have made it through that veil is if access was granted to them. And…” “One of us,” I sigh, feeling a migraine coming on. Luca and Nyra are right. Someone who has the power to scale through that veil unscathed must have helped them. And it cannot have been a regular pack member. It’s someone much stronger. “And how are we even sure they are hunters?” Nyra says, her hand reaching for a shirt on the floor before she decides against it, the look of disgust in her eyes. “I mean, it could be anything, right?”

The Hunters were a pair of sisters, the older of whom had previously worked for LIGHTS but had been on her own for the last decade or so, recruiting her sister to work with her. Though she had been successful for many years as part of the team, she had her reasons for departing. Laura, the older and taller of the two, was royally pissed to see Giovani speeding away in his familiar black Corvette. She had been tracking him for more years than she could count, and it seemed that they were just about to get a two-for-one hit when he caught their scent and bailed.
