“I have to be inducted first.” “Oh great, more weird ceremonies,” she said and Malachi laughed. “We’ll dance naked around a bonfire and slaughter a goat and drink its blood while chanting–” “Just wash the blood off before you come home,” she said. “I love you, Jess.” “I love you too and Gabe’s keeping your place warm,” she said. “The dog is not allowed on the bed!” Jessica laughed. “What you can’t see can’t anger you.” That night Malachi dreamed of John and Levi, wondering what he looked like and where he’s been all these years.
