* My eyes focussed on Dusak the One-Eyed as he came closer, two guns in his hands as he aimed them at us, but then, he levelled his weapons on my husband. The young man was totally unlike the youth I had seen on that snowy hillside years ago when he was trying to kill my husband. He had been a slim youth them; this was a burly man, with aquiline features and a cold, killer’s look in his one eye as he looked us over. His gaze swept over me dismissively and moved to Lucien. Cole was still crowing, a cackle of laughter as he said, ‘We wanted to take out this fat female of yours, didn’t we, Rudenko?’

"To anyone else, Kazakh wolves looked like a normal human, just like all of us here. However, there was one trait that made a Kazakh wolf distinguishable from any other wolf." "Which was?" Kenji asks. "Purple eyes." The room fell silent, as the others took everything in. "Ok.. but that doesn't explain why you suddenly think that I'm a queen.
