I can feel my neck slowly bending until I see the aisle I am walking on. I am bowing to the demons I wanted to kill. “Don’t be stupid, Mireya,” I felt my eyes sting as I tried to regain my control. My palm curled as I tried to escape whatever spell Azrael had cast upon me. I had exhausted all my energy but I was still under his control. I can hear his footsteps getting closer and closer and the next thing I knew he was already standing beside me, his head bowed like what I’m doing. “Be patient Mireya. Revenge takes time,” he whispered then he smiled and held my hand.

Silver hair pulled back in a neat ponytail. A face that might have been handsome if not for eyes that held all the warmth of winter ice. He stopped about fifty feet from the motel, studying the building with the careful assessment of someone who'd walked into ambushes before. "Aurelia Veythorne," he called out, his voice carrying clearly through the night air. "I am Azrael, Purifier of the Third Circle. I mean you no immediate harm. I simply wish to talk." I exchanged a glance with Zane. He shook his head fractionally. Don't respond.

Asher watched the memory unfold as if it were happening right before his eyes. He narrowed his eyes, focused on the dark figure with the massive wings. "Who the hell is this?" he asked Damir internally. "That's Morgana, a high-ranking demon from the Abyss," Damir replied. A beat of silence. "This Abyss," Asher said, his tone shifting.
