He realized that the terrifying energy that filled the whole chamber was mostly coming from him. The General was surrounded by Five of the Chiefs of the Demon Army, which was formerly six if Mordok didn't perished.

The smoke, if compressed, was enough to fill a jar the size of the boy’s head. The light fizzled out abruptly and the smoke in the circle burst out on all sides in a ring. At its revealed core sat a lesser demon. The thing reminded Kilvic of a large spider. With four legs on both sides, it scratched the ground in confusion, its carapace covered thorax wiggling with each move. Its head was no more than a large blob attached to its torso with eight beady eyes that moved individually scattered upon it. Together, its head and thorax were easily the size of a grown boy’s forearm. And attached to them at its end was a large greenish abdomen with a stinger the size of a thumb. It was a visual cross

Cher grabbed Gentel’s horn and smashed her against a wall. The demon was stunned but still alert and was able to move out of the way in time to avoid being impaled by the angel’s blade.

This was where the demon would attempt its final ascension, seizing complete control over Alex's body and soul. Without wasting a moment, Mia and Heartman began the ancient chants, their voices harmonizing with an ethereal resonance that filled the chamber. The words reverberated through the air, a powerful incantation designed to weaken the demon's grip and dismantle the altar. But just as the chants reached a crescendo, the ground beneath them began to tremble. The stone floor cracked open, and Alex emerged, flanked by his loyal followers who had been twisted and corrupted by the demon's influence.
