His voice was laced with a certain sadness. "Y-you don't understand." Liam mumbled under his breath as his shoulder started to shake. "Y-you fucking don't u-understand where I'm coming from because Demian was j-just a Demon Lord f-for you." Liam stammering and struggling to speak as his sobs get in his way, his head hung low.

he affirmed. “How? Demons are demons, not fine humans,” I claimed and he laughed. “You really don’t know anything, do you?” he continued laughing. “I was just asking, I’m curious. My teacher used to tell me demons are ugly creatures with horns sent to the world to manipulate and destroy lives before returning to hell. Why are you not ugly?” I queried curiously. He stopped laughing and focused on me.

The report presented prompted His Majesty to issue an emergency court session. The Emperor’s eyes swept over his court, first gazing at those who remained calm and compared those ‘respectable’ imbeciles arguing amongst themselves in the middle of the court. He let out a long sigh as he resisted the urge to massage his temples. “I should have thought this through before summoning this entire lot of them.” He thought to himself regretfully. The ministers, generals along with their commanders are discussing possibilities of enemies identities, listing down all threats to the nation to the point it was becoming ridiculous! How could a beast straight out of ancient folklore appear as their enemy?

I hoped for so many things. “They said they’d let us know if anything changed,” The letter they sent played over in my mind, cold, formal. They thanked me for letting them know about the demons. They told me they’d contemplate their next move. That was all. No promise to help, no sign they understood what was at stake or how badly we needed them. And that they would be next if we lose the war. It would be best to all join together … unless they planned to side with the demons, too?

Finally bold enough, I asked, "Could you check?" The demon even jerked his head, then laughed. Have you ever heard a demon's laughter? Do you think it's scary? It's no scarier than a storm, or lighting, or a hurricane. It sounds wild, and furious, and mad, and fiery, yet oh so beautiful. The room suddenly became chilly. Smoke swirled in the corners of the pentagram, and Martha grew even paler. She was afraid I wouldn't be able to hold the demon back-or that I wouldn't be able to hold myself back from stepping toward him. I wasn't going to do that, however. I knew all too well you weren't supposed to trust demons.

"Mom and dad have finally started to moved on. I understand that they were both hiding from the past like I was; dad in his work, and mom through her exotic travelling. Our family is back to normal again. The letter you wrote really changed them, they're back to being their old loving selves again. They made up for not being there for me in the past by giving me all their time and love in these 6 months. Thank you for that, I really needed them, more than I knew." I sighed softly, "You sent me a letter too, I didn't have the courage to read it until now. That's the main reason I came here today, I wanted to read the letter with you." I ran my hand over the white envelope. It was still sealed

“Isn’t that every demon's job today?” She smiled again, “Some of the demons just have vendettas and they have waited centuries for a chance to get their revenge,” she explained, “The demons were warned about this war weeks ago. Hex will tell them it’s time, and they know that you are with Damien, a level two, they know that means that they have to protect you.” Her words eased the queasiness in my stomach slightly, but not entirely. There was still a war about to break out. Heaven versus Hell, the kind of thing that only happens in video games was now happening to me.

“What do you mean, Mom?” “Sweetheart, don’t act humble. The demonologist you sent arrived an hour ago. He took care of the problem almost immediately and helped us feel safe again,” said Mom. A demonologist?! Mom wasn’t making sense. Did Desmond send one to our house since he didn’t want to come before anyone other than me? “Oh, yes. I remember.” I faked a laugh. “Can you give me his name and a bit about his appearance so I can confirm that the right one has reached you?”

So I focused on listening to the details. "The demon Alpha wrote us a letter that he's visiting" he explained. " What!" Alec exclaimed. I could see how he became suddenly agitated. I was supposed to be scared because I know this is going to be a bloody war but I wasn't to my own surprise. My brothers are good warriors. I don't think they've lost any battle. "The counsel is in uproar because of that stupid letter that was delivered by the postman this evening" Damion said. " We need to prepare for whatever is coming," Alec said, touching his forehead like he caught a headache.

Emmie smirked a bit, eyeing him up and down for a moment, wordlessly reminding Ramsay that she was close to him. “That’s not what I meant,” he rolled his eyes with an amused smirk. “You can get as close to me as you want, I don’t mind.” “Idiot.” Face back to serious, his eyes got worried really quick. “Just promise me to stay away from the Demons. They’re hardcore. And they do stuff you and probably no one else on the Northside is even aware of.” “Like what?” she asked. “Can’t tell you. But they take advantage of women. So, please. Stay away.”
