He spilled the contents of his stomach like he had never before. Bear, a bear shifter that's not new to seeing blood and agression, just spat his guts off at the sight of the dead animals. "What is it?" I asked as I moved closer to him. He was still leaning forward with his hands braced on both of his knees when he looked at me over his shoulder. "Those bears..." He whispered. I looked back in to the truck to see a few dead bears amongst the dead animals. "What about them, Bear?" I asked, fearing what he was about to say.

ALTHEA The bear’s growl rumbles through my chest, deep and angry. My body locks up in fear, but my mind screams at me to not stop running. “Asher,” I whisper, though my voice barely comes out. He doesn’t need my warning. He’s already raising his gun, his arm steady as he aims it at the bear. The bear snarls, ears pinned back, eyes locked on us. It’s bigger than I expected. Much bigger. Its fur is a deep, thick brown, and its black claws look sharp enough to tear through flesh like paper.

I am drenched in blood and I’m sure I look like the monster in horror movies. I suddenly hear Owen howl in pain and I whip my head back towards his direction. He has left the safety of the force field and has a bear latched onto his shoulder. Derek is fighting off three bears, trying to get to get to Owen. I charge in their direction and shove my paw right into the bears neck and rip out his tongue. The bear collapses and whimpers in pain. I can’t stand the noise he is making so I stomp on his head until he is silenced. Owen has collapsed and refused to move. I am sure he feels numb from the loss of his mate. I can’t imagine what that feels like, but I can’t let him wallow in self pity right

I, Alpha Xander, the protector, the leader, the embodiment of strength, was now a whirlwind of claws and teeth, fueled by a burning injustice. My opponent, a hulking brute of a bear in the forest stood defiant. It was an enemy I had known for years, a rival for territory and resources. Yet, the bear had always held a grudging respect for my strength. I guess it thought I was in one of my best moods that day. The respect had I had saved for it all these years was been shattered by the bear’s latest transgression. Nothing burned me more than the fact that my mate was nowhere near me. They all scrambled to their feet and backed away from the entrance, Griffin the slowest. The Harpax eagle let out his loudest screech in response to the snorting territorial claim. “Bear,” Temujin gasped. “Aren’t bears supposed to be in deep slumber this time of year?” “It’s a snow bear,” Temujin said pointedly. The northern lights must’ve started while they were sleeping because there was ruby-red light spilling from outside. Against this striking light, the bear’s silhouette – white on the edges and standing upright – blocked their only exit, undeterred by Griffin

But it won’t be long till I wipe it off his face. “Take them in groups of five!” I yell at our king and the bear leader burst out laughing. “And you think that will help?” he raises an eyebrow looking at me mockingly. ‘Let me take him.’ My beautiful mate says in the mind link. ‘In due time little mate, just wait.’ I tell her but I can see how anxious she is, JP as well clenching and unclenching his fists. The bears have a lot of strength, but they are slow as we expected and when they get to one of us, they don’t let go until they are dead.

But after that day, he developed an urge to go hunting and kill again. He had read that wild animals were not scarce here – bears, leopards, wolves, to name a few – so he was cautious not to wander too far from his cabin. “Are you lost?” A voice with a strong accent called from behind him. He hadn't heard any sound. Ralph turned quickly to see who was there. “You are stranger,” the man said again, his English not so strong but good enough to communicate. “How do you know that?” Ralph asked, alert.

Aldo felt his hands curl and uncurl countless times. He couldn’t deny the fact that he was genuinely scared for Liya. The location on her tracker was showing Damian’s club, but he didn’t know what to think when he didn't have his eyes on her. There was a moment where she was at a place for a particular amount of time, and anxiety almost swallowed him whole by the second.

It stood on its hind legs, its nose twitching as it sampled the air, its small, intelligent eyes fixed directly on us. It was a Frost-Spire bear, a creature of legend, said to be the ancient guardians of the highest peaks. We were in its territory. “Don’t move,” Kelra breathed, his sword held steady. “Don’t make a sound.” The bear dropped to all fours with a ground-shaking thud. It took a step toward us, a low, rumbling growl vibrating in its chest. The sound was a physical force, pressing against us. It was hungry. And we were the only meal in sight.

David barely registered it his focus was razor-sharp on the threat in front of him. “David, no it’s not what it looks like,” Heather cut in fast. “He’s helping. We’ve been faking it to keep them distracted from her.” He followed her gaze. At the far end of the pit crouched the she-bear massive, hunched, eyes wide and wild. She’d said she was going home. Now she was trapped down here too. The pit walls were steep, packed dirt and roots. He could probably haul them out human, but not while rifles glinted up top and this scarred bastard still breathed too close to his mate.
