“Don’t move,” Kelra breathed, his sword held steady. “Don’t make a sound.”
The bear dropped to all fours with a ground-shaking thud. It took a step toward us, a low, rumbling growl vibrating in its chest. The sound was a physical force, pressing against us. It was hungry. And we were the only meal in sight.
