Destiny 2 Buried Bloodline Novels & Stories

I needed time. And this cursed earth, it was all we had left. I stepped into the graveyard alone, the dagger pulsing at my side. Each gravestone was worn smooth by wind and years. Names erased. Stories forgotten. But magic didn’t forget. I could feel it in my teeth, my spine, my bones. They were buried here: the first bloodline. My ancestors. The ones who built Blackridge on the edge of the forest because they weren’t afraid to bury their dead near their door.

They had to infiltrate the mine, identify the contents of the twelve containers, and neutralize the threat before the timer ran out. The system provided a new tool for this new challenge. Jack delved into the newly unlocked functions, his authority as "Urban Wolf King" granting him access to deeper, more esoteric abilities tied to his bloodline. He found what he was looking for and invested a significant portion of his newly acquired points. I reached for him—and the moment our fingers touched, the bond ignited. Power screamed through us both. I saw flashes—his memories, my memories, our lives overlapping. His birth under an eclipse. My first shift beneath the blood moon. His coronation, my rebellion. The prophecy whispered through generations. Two halves of one soul. But then something else emerged—an image buried deep within him. A throne made of bone. And a crown of light resting on it. Empty. Waiting. The bond wanted to fill it. The realization made me freeze. The bond wasn’t just linking us—it was choosing one of us to ascend. To become the vessel for the First Blood.

They were the same rhythmic clicks and stops that Lucian had just spoken. "This was found in the deep ice caves where the first shifters were buried," Rona said. "My ancestors called them the Ghost Lineage. They were three-tailed wolves who could command the dead and walk between the worlds. The Council did not hunt them to protect the packs, Killian. They hunted them because they were terrified of the return." She looked at me, her eyes narrowing. "Vespera is not a Dud who got lucky with a silver pulse. She is the first of the return. And the boy’s blood is the key to finishing what the Council started."

The forest, the wolf murmured. Darius nodded slowly. “The curse awakens when the royal bloodline grows too proud, and we all know you are so adamant about doing the needful.” Silence filled the room in that instant. Finally, Kaelen asked, “What stops it?” Darius looked directly at him. “There is only one solution.” Kaelen didn’t like the sound of that. Darius continued. “The Alpha heir must unite the bloodline with the one race we rejected.” Kaelen already knew where this was going.

Kael screamed, his skin beginning to flake away into shadow. "I’m not letting go!" Ariyah cried, her silver blood glowing through her skin. For a heartbeat, the world vanished. There was only the three of them, a circle of blood and light held together by a bond that had been broken, mended, and finally forged into something indestructible. The mountain let out a deep, tectonic groan. The ley-line opened, and the darkness—the Vesper-Grip, the infection, the shards of obsidian—was sucked out of them and driven deep into the heart of the earth.

He paused, then quickly stood up, trying to contact Kael through the link, but it was cut off. Varik’s breath grew heavy, but he got into the car and turned in the opposite direction. He was leaving them to their fate. If only they knew… what had awakened wasn’t just power but ancient power in its purest blood. A lineage believed to have been wiped out. Now, a descendant lived. And with her… the blood hunt. “Things are about to get nasty,” he whispered, his fingers tightening on the steering wheel.

Lydia's remarks kept coming back to me. I mumbled, looking at the faded inscription, "The Forgotten Bloodline." "What does it signify?" Dennis crossed his arms and walked inside the room. "You've spent hours in here. Have you had any luck?" "Not yet," I said in frustration. "But I need to find out what Lydia meant when she said something about my bloodline." Dennis studied the open pages as he leaned over. "How about this? He gestured at a line that was scribbled in the margins: The lineage that connects the darkness and the light.

—echoed like a ticking bomb inside my chest. Why turn himself in now? Why after all this time, after everything he’s done? Because he was done being the hunter. He wanted to become the bait. And we were too grief-drunk to realize it. The Chevres. That name has been vibrating like a warning in my skull. Rosetta. Damon. The whole damn bloodline. They’re still out there. Jace pulled the bike to a stop by a cliff that overlooked a black stretch of forest. Stars bled into the open sky. For a second, it felt like we were just...people.
