Destiny is running late so we did not walk together this morning. Destiny is my best friend. She is a Bampire, and her father is Trey. Mom turned them when I was months old. I ran to a rock and stood on top of it, watching all the demons. I recalled what my mom had told me.

I don’t want you to be a part of my life,” she said as she handed the phone back and stood up to leave. “Say hi to your father for me.” Aurora called after us, but Destiny didn’t look back.
