I let out a small laugh, grabbing a bottle as I dropped back into place.
“Shut up,” I muttered, taking a drink. The burn hit my throat and settled warm in my chest while I leaned back and stared at nothing for a second.
They were still watching me as I had just signed a deal with the devil, and in a way, maybe I had.
Arnie clicked her tongue. “That smile on your face is not normal, May. Every time you smile like that, somebody suffers.”
