Does that in anyway include the little redhead who’s currently lying in your bed?” I hold his stare. “What do you think?”

My face was black since that was how I felt within me. Devon laughed at me and left the table. I felt even worse. How could he allow me to do this to myself and now he just left me alone like that? While I was sulking, he returned with a cup of something else which I didn't know what it was. He handed it to me and I noticed it was red. Blood? No, it didn't look at thick as blood. I wanted to sniff it but then, that would be a total display of distrust.

So you can go out first.” “Alright, Bye, Dad.” Devon pulled the metal handle on the glass door, but as he was about to step over the threshold, the pocket of Devon's jacket got caught on the metal handle, and something from the pocket fell out. Meazus' gaze immediately shifted to something that had fallen out of Devon's coat pocket because the sound echoed loudly in the quiet room. “What's that?” asked Meazus, pointing to the red box that Devon had just picked up from the floor and put back in his coat pocket. "Isn't that red box a ring box? Do you want to give it to mommy?"

Devon looked pissed as he stood in front of me. “What is going on?” I asked. “I do not know, but I need you and the girls to go inside. We are going to head out there and see what the issue is.” Devon replied. Fear rose within me I looked into his eyes. They were a very deep dark blue. Domnik was present, which explained the change in his voice. I was not scared of him, but I did take a step back which caused him to let out a whine. I flinched slightly when his large hand touched my cheek.

He turned to me, dazed, hand reaching out like I’d ever want to touch him again. I stepped back. He dropped to the floor, coughing blood, gasping like a man drowning. "I’ve been waiting a long time to do this," Devon said. For a moment, everything stopped. The soldiers. The shouting. The cries. It was dead silent. Then came the chaos again. And this time, it wasn’t war—it was revolution. Devon stepped forward without hesitation, his eyes locked on the man writhing in blood at his feet. Bang.

Fuck the red house. The last thought I had as I focused a mental blast to Devon, but my body froze before I could. Devon’s eyes widened, and his grip loosened, making me land on the floor flat.
