Chapter 4: Competition? Kai’s P.O.V “Wow.” Devon gave the three of us a once over as he leaned back in his seat with a smirk. “The three of you sure look wonderful this fine morning.” Three consecutive groans came from three different people but for three completely different reasons. Joshua, the red-headed player of our group who got spotted the most because of his unusual hair color, gave Devon the middle finger as he laid his head back down on his desk. “Fuck you, man! I nearly had a heart attack! And this is what I come back to?”

The door clicks shut with a final thud that echoes right through the soles of my feet to my very bones as I stand frozen in the center of the room... Slowly, the full weight of where I am crashes down on me like an avalanche! ​The room is covered entirely in deep, scarlet red tones... It looks less like a bedroom and more like some kind of seductive dungeon designed for a singular... sinful purpose! The bed in the center is so massive, it could easily fit four people!

Vivica froze, eyes wide, her chest rising as she watched the devil himself descend upon them. The dark blue aura surrounding him pressed against her burning skin, sending a thrill along her heated skin, and desire, through her. All the rumors about him turned out to be true. He was the Devil. The real Devil. Finn stepped forward deliberately, each movement slow, lethal, deliberate. He stopped just in front of her, the room now deathly silent except for the beat of her pulsing heat.

If I want to have a baby, I can have it with anyone, not her; the child born to her is not known as a ghost or a demon. I shivered at Vincent's callous words; I stared at him in fear without blinking. "Is that the word of a human?" Vincent smirked, his whole body covered in ice. "You always call me the devil, don't you?" I turned my head and saw Aboli with his eyes closed, his whole body drooping like a lamp that had run out of oil. My mind went blank, I didn't even think about it, so I rushed to bite Vincent's toned arm hard. Not only did I bite, but I also tried to chew it like it was my food.

That night she came to dinner wearing shorts, she looked so fucking sexy and I wanted to send every one of my men out of the dining room and fuck the shit out of her on the dining table but I quickly brushed the thought off because what the fuck. Watching her sleep so peacefully made my heart start beating differently, I didn’t even know that shit still works. In my ‘line of work’, people refer to me as The Devil and I love that nickname. My hand involuntarily reached out to tuck a strand of her hair but I stopped and got up when I heard Gio come in. Thank God he didn’t see that. “Oh, why is our princess sleeping on a couch?” Gio said “Don’t know, don’t care” I answered as I loosened my tie

Thus, Seraphina quickly understood what Devon wanted to convey, and she chose to wear only his clothes. Devon becoming possessive towards Seraphina, even though she has only just agreed to enter into a courtship with him. He cannot fully understand that when Seraphina wear a crop top and shorts, the demon within him becomes uncontrollable. He would not hesitate to kill anyone who dares to look at her figure and her angelic face. "Of course you are," Devon replies, cheerfully watching the lady. At this moment, he cannot comprehend that he is secretly smiling, something he rarely does.

DANTE'S POV People call me the Devil of New York. They're not wrong. I've killed men for less than a dirty look. I've gutted rats who thought they could steal from me. I've fucked women who begged for mercy and made them beg for more pain instead. My empire runs on blood, loyalty, and fear. That's the only language this rotten world understands. And tonight, I reminded everyone of it. Crawford thought he could play me. Thought he could borrow money from my syndicate, promise returns, and then ghost like I'm some dumb fuck banker. It was a worst-case scenario and there was no way out of it. Devon looked intently at the new girl, he couldn't figure out the color of her eyes. He initially would have guessed that they were green, but the more he looked at them he almost wanted to say they were a golden yellow. Then there were the flashes of red and orange that seemed to be streaked throughout them. It was almost as if her eyes were made of opal with the sun constantly glinting off of them and bringing out more color. They were definitely the most unusual pair of eyes he'd ever seen.
