Just as my legs were about to be torn apart, the operator of the extraction machine suddenly shouted, "Your Honor! I found something that doesn't make sense." She rushed forward, holding a blood-soaked mass of flesh.

“I-If you see me like this, and my eyes are d-different unlike the other night... j-just run.” I shook my head indulgently. “No!” I firmly said. “I will not leave you here! I don’t understand why they are afraid of you, but I am not!” “I am… a-a monster,” he said while groaning in pain. “Y-You can’t be with a monster…” “What the bloody hell, Diego?!” I exclaimed. “You asked me if I trust you, and yes, I fully trust in you! So whatever you turn out to be tonight, I will never leave you! Ever!”

But his black eyes were rimmed slightly in pink, and his grimace widened, displaying large red gums where three-inch fangs protruded. “Holy hell…” she muttered, images of Gibbon filling her mind. This would be a more sophisticated version of the last monster she’d tangled with that wouldn’t die. “Shoot it!” Brandon said again and opened fire before Cadence could even draw her gun. "What happened?" Don Morandi was right behind him. His expression darkened as well when his gaze swept over Dario and Lina. And then, I heard footsteps. They were heavy and measured. A man stepped out of the shadows. He was incredibly tall—a good half a head taller than Dario, and he had shoulders so broad they looked like they were about to burst through his black shirt. His sleeves were rolled up to his forearms, revealing a web of interlaced scars from his wrist all the way to the crook of his elbow.

Constance turned her head to the room in fear that Letitia had woken up before she pulled Mateo along with her only stopping once she thought they were far away from the room Letitia was resting in.
