The matter filed. The logistics handled. He looked back up at Eleanor. "Did you find out about brachiosaurus?" "I read three books," Eleanor said, leaning forward slightly. So I will read two different stories? While they stayed with me, they usually snoozed off after taking their night time bath due to the amount of fun they usually have. “You're reading mine first. Eric will be sleeping soon anyways. Something like that.”

They are one of the strongest characters. The rest of the day, I spend time reading books that I borrowed from Shelby. They were about dinosaurs and their history. I knew she was obsessed with dinosaurs and I guessed she would have lots of books about them; my guess was true. I drained myself on the books. I hardly went for tea in the evening because I was busy reading. One could already tell me that I am a nerd, because I am, and you know it. By the time Ivan called me for supper, I had finished reading two thick books about their origin and evolution. I returned them to Shelby afterward and she was quite excited about it.

Both options felt equally disturbing. I closed the book and slid it back into place. My breathing still refused to cooperate. My feet carried me to another shelf. I needed something that had nothing to do with me or corporate sins. Turned out the next shelf was full of children's books. Picture books about dinosaurs, trucks, cats. A whole series about a little hero with a lion mask. One of Ash's stickers clung crooked on one of the spines. I pulled one out. The first page already looked a little worn. In the corner of the page, there was a small scribble in blue marker. Definitely not Zane's handwriting. Big, wobbly letters.

"Dinosaurs. Because dinosaurs are the most cool." In the store he insisted on pushing his own small cart, selecting each item from his list with meticulous care. Crayons, the twenty-four pack, because more colors meant better pictures. Folders, green and blue, because those were dinosaur colors. Pencils, the ones with dinosaur erasers on the end. And the backpack.
