Disney Dinosaur Book Novels & Stories

“I don’t know. Daddy says they protect the city, but I don’t see how. They never do anything.” My finger stopped on a worn out book. The faded writing on the spine said Beasts Of The Wild. I pulled it out and flipped it open in the middle. There was a drawing of a yeti-looking creature called a yowg. The description gave details of height, size and hair colour. Dietary information and habitats were also included. I flicked through more pages and found more creatures, some of which I was familiar with. The names, at least. Unfortunately, the book wasn’t organised into alphabetical order, so I had to search a number of pages before I found what I was looking for: Mouse King.

Their hesitation made my heart sink. James stayed back, standing near the tree. Watching. "Did you bring the dinosaur book?" Leo finally asked. I held it up. The one about T-Rex, the one he always begged me to read at bedtime. "Can we read it now?" His voice was smaller than usual. "Of course, buddy." I sat on the garden bench, pulling Mia onto my lap. "All of you, come here." Sam climbed up beside me, his little hands gripping my arm. Leo settled in next to him.

Sounds like a date, babe. I typed a reply when Max and Pascha's voices came from behind me. They were still busy with their new dinosaur, arguing about the species, whether it was a Tyrannosaurus Rex or an Allosaurus. “Daddy, I have a book about dinosaurs! Let me show you something!” Max jumped up from the floor and ran into his toy room, leaving Pascha chuckling and shaking his head. I put the phone on my chest, exhaling. I let Pascha be silent. I lay on my side, still chatting with Aurora and Kyara.

Almost bedtime. As I step out of my office, I hear giggles from the living room. When I turn the corner, I find Collin sprawled out on the floor, surrounded by dinosaur figurines, his T-Rex plush clutched in one hand. His face lights up the second he sees me. “Daddy! Come look!” He waves me over excitedly, pointing at the Jurassic World book spread open in front of him. “Did you know the Brachiosaurus was as big as a house?”

“I want to hear how your Papa will roar like a dinosaur.” The three of them shared a laugh as Althea settled on Nicholas’ one side after taking her shoes off while Dominic did the same. He then opened the book and propped it over his lap and looked down at his son, who is waiting for him to start. “In the land behind the mountains, filled with trees and a big, big river,” Dominic started slowly, “a new baby dinosaur is born and his mama and papa named him Bobby." Dominic continued to read the story and elicited some giggles from Nicholas when he made the roaring sound of the dinosaurs. He grinned when their son asked Althea to make the same sound and she did, which Nicholas laughed at.

“I don’t want a party. I just want to stay with you and Ava. And mommy... I don't have friends here.” Her heart melts at his words, and she hugs him tightly. “You’re the sweetest boy in the world, do you know that?” He giggles softly, his cheeks flushing. “But…” he begins hesitantly, “if I had to choose something, maybe a new book about dinosaurs?” Lila smiles. “A dinosaur book it is. And maybe a cake shaped like one too?” Liam’s eyes widen with excitement. “Really? A dinosaur cake?” “Of course,” she replies. “Anything for my little paleontologist.”

She says, and I nod my head before placing two sets into the trolley. "What's next?" I murmur and Sienna glances at me. "What about books?" She suggests and I brighten immediately. "Definitely." I say, nodding my head and we make our way to the right aisle. The children's section is beautiful. Colorful covers fill the shelves. Animals. Numbers. Letters. Fairy tales. Learning books. Aiden picks one up. "This one has dinosaurs." He says excitedly and I laugh. "I'm shocked that they actually have dinosaur books"

She didn’t pull her hand away from his. She watched as Daniel pushed the green dinosaur to the edge of the paper, then picked it up and held it in front of his eyes, tilting his head to look at it. He turned the dinosaur over, with the bottom side facing up, and touched its belly with his finger. Then he put the dinosaur back on the paper. With his other hand, he picked up a crayon and drew something around the dinosaur—it was hard to tell from the rooftop’s perspective. It might have been a fence, or a castle, or maybe just a random scribble by a four-year-old child.

Hearing the sound from the shower, Karl could not help but imagine things and gulped. He casually picked up Danielle’s book on the nightstand. It was an exercise book, and the first half of the book was almost filled. As Karl flipped through it, he saw her doodles in some corners. A little blue elephant wearing a bow was looking up at a lion. The baby elephant seemed small, whereas the lion was tall and mighty… On the next page, he saw that the lion was trying to give the baby elephant a piece of meat, but the elephant was looking at the bananas on a tree off to the side.

He held it close to his chest, looking uncertainly at Kael. Kael noticed the movement immediately. He stopped rolling the car and waited, his posture becoming slightly more relaxed. “Is that a storybook?” he asked gently. Liam hesitated, then nodded. “About dinosaurs.” A faint, almost imperceptible smile touched the corner of Kael’s lips—the first real sign of warmth I had seen from him in years. “I used to like dinosaur stories too. Do you… do you want to read it?” Liam looked at Ms. Ramos, who gave him an encouraging nod. Slowly, very slowly, Liam walked over and sat down—on the opposite side of the table, still keeping a safe distance, but closer than before. He opened the book and began
