Disturbing Horror Books Novels & Stories

I steeled myself and opened the door. The hallway was awash in red. Smears and spatters of bright and dark blood covered the walls, the floor, and my door. My head reeled. What the hell happened? Why was there so much blood outside my door? Hadn't the guy in 603 seen it through his peephole? I couldn't help looking toward apartment 603. To my surprise, the door stood half-open, and it was dead quiet inside. I picked my way past the bloodstains and made my way to apartment 603.

It was like those horror movie scenes where the possessed person turns their head in an unnatural speed to a super creepy angle that causes their hair behind your neck to rise. I was surprised I didn't hear a loud crack from her. I raised my hands up in surrender as quickly as she had turned her head to stab me with her glare before she actually murders me. Anyone who knows Casey knows not to mess with her book collection, unless they want to end up dead in a ditch in the middle of nowhere. That girl does not joke about her books. When she finally secured her book and redirected her focus back to it instead of me, I knew I wouldn't have to worry about questions being rained down on me.

The howling wind outside seemed to be growing louder, and I couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. As I made my way back to bed, I noticed something strange. The pages of the book I was reading were scrolling themselves, the words blurring together in a maddening rhythm. I froze, my heart racing with fear. "Ahhhh!" I screamed, as I frantically ran towards the door. I had almost reached the entrance when the door slammed shut violently, the sound echoing through the room like a gunshot. I spun around, my eyes scanning the room in desperation. "No, no, no. What the heck is going on? Brock!!!" I screamed on top of my lungs, but there was no response.

But still, my eyelids are absolutely reluctant to close. As I lay there staring blankly at the ceiling, I suddenly remembered Javier’s collection of horror books. That’s right. A while back, I’d idly picked up one of his scary stories. Since I’m actually a scaredy-cat, every time I read one of those horror stories, I’d immediately be scared out of my wits and end up falling asleep from emotional exhaustion.

“I believe you Polly,everything you said about this place is true…its haunted!At first I only felt it,but now… I have seen this evil with my own two eyes!” “Oh God!”Polly gasped.She wasn’t crazy after all.The last five months had been nothing but sheer torture.Even Royce thought she just had a fanciful imagination,but now her own sister had become privy to the manor's supernatural aura. What was this darkness clouding her marital home?What did it want? “I was getting dressed,”Ginny continued.”All of a sudden I felt the room grow cold.I thought I must have left the window open,but when I checked it was closed.The cold seemed to come from everywhere.”

I should return to my chambers, should maintain the careful schedule that kept me safely within established boundaries. Instead, I found myself drawn deeper into the library's maze of shelves, following an instinct I couldn't name toward sections I hadn't yet explored. The books grew older as I moved toward the back of the room, their bindings more fragile, their subjects increasingly esoteric. Here were volumes on subjects that academic institutions would dismiss as superstition—treatises on lycanthropy, studies of lunar influences on human behavior, collections of spells that claimed to bind souls to animal forms. Occasionally cursed in his heart for fear of hearing the sound of tables and chairs shifting because they hit him. He walked to the left and the book aisle until his hand touched the end of the hall. He went back through each book quickly. Find out here where it is. Several books hit and fell, causing him to curse again. There was the sound of the library door opening and approaching footsteps. It sounded calm but it made the boy's heart flutter, as if today was the last day for him to breathe.

I apologize that this book is really short with less than 30k words in all. I plan to edit it at some point and make it better. I figured that a really long Horror book might be less interesting and would just seem drawn out. I've not read a lot of them but I watch horror movies so I wrote this like I would picture an Horror movie. I appreciate all those who stuck with me and read Reincarnation regardless. Thank you all. After saying this, I would love and appreciate your feedbacks and things to watch out for when I do edit the book. It would be really helpful and appreciated. Bonus scene ideas too would be great. The book slipped from my hand and hit the floor with a dull thud. I didn’t pick it up. My eyes burned from reading, but I reached for another one anyway, dragging it off the shelf with shaking fingers. Dust scattered as I flipped it open, scanning lines too fast to fully process. “Severed bonds often result in—” I slammed it shut. “Useless,” I muttered, tossing it onto the growing pile at my feet. Another book followed. Then another. Titles blurred together—Fated Pairings, Ritual Disruptions, Wolf Instinct and Divine Order.

“Still in its early chapters, in their early stage of the story, as one might change, and the whole plot might turn upside down. But the question is, will there be someone who will want to read such a book with the same curse and even much worse than this one?” With her haunting voice and mind that’s running into the words and thoughts that a deeper dread and darkness is about to consume everything in between and what is left for all of them. She closes the book as she left it unto the nothingness of the void, where she stands, holds the book of the world she is currently dwelling inside, turns around, and with a sinister smile, whispers. “Would you dare?
