It smelled so good I was almost in a frenzy. Laeddin pulled away. "Hey." His face and tone were angry. I stood; my breathing ragged. "Hey yourself, Laeddin." I licked the blood on my tooth. My eyes rolled back at the sensation and flavor. It was infused with a different type of magic than what I experienced before. Having tasted all seven of the magics, I searched to find which one his tasted most like. It was as though all seven existed inside him at once, but at the same time wholly different. I wondered what the genie's origins were, which reminded me of the demura called Iza.

Lars was in awe of depthdweller races variety, some resembling sharks, dolphins, turtles, octopi or many more. Djinns also made their appearance, each from different tribes' representation, bringing more colors into the assembly. Next to their section, there was the magi, humans with magical powers. Lars found their arcane aura was easily distinguishable among the mythfolks and depthdwellers who brimmed of elementals.

I turn my attention to the woman sitting across from me, unaware of how much her every action disarms me. Dinah is lost in her own thoughts, obsidian eyes staring at her cup in a daze. I’ve never seen anyone with such delicate structure. Except, of course, practioners of magic. They use their fragile appearance to disarm and deceive. I quell that thought just as it arises.
