The Cursed Alpha’s Only Mate

The Cursed Alpha’s Only Mate

But Hecate looked at me as if she saw past the king, past the curse, past everything I tried to hide. I did not know whether to praise her audacity or take it as a threat. "Many people think that magic is for show," she said, her voice low and smooth, like honey poured over stone. "But true magic is not a spectacle. It is a force that comes from within. It heals because it understands pain."

The Girl with the Violet Eyes

The Girl with the Violet Eyes

Tension coils instantly in my stomach. Right. He is definitely talking about me. “Magic,” he continues, turning away, “is not emotion. It is not instinct. It is discipline.” Something about those words feels wrong. Deeply wrong. Because whatever happened to me…It felt exactly like instinct. The glowing crystals overhead flicker slightly. Just once. No one else notices. But I do. And suddenly that pressure returns. Awakening in my veins. My fingers tighten against the desk. Not now. Please not now.

she demanded, lifting her head slightly to look at us. I turned my head toward her, arching a brow. "What good stuff?" I asked, because clearly, I had missed the memo. "You know," Maggie said, waving a hand vaguely. "The real magic. The cool spells. The things that make witches, you know, powerful." Ashton let out a breathless chuckle. "You mean the stuff you saw in those movies?"

The Magic of Irina

The Magic of Irina

She heard her father continued. “Magic is about practice.” Roman raised his brows at his daughter sudden sad look. “But not everyone mastering magic as fast as you.” “Really?” “Really.” Roman saw the glow return to his daughter’s eyes. “Want to know a secret?” “What?” The sun shone brightly. Its light reflected on every tall window of the mansion. The stable was busy when they walked passing it. Workers were doing their duty, feeding the horses, brushing their hair and cleaning them, and taking them for a slow ride.

The Howling Throne

At all of them. Myrra, who had remained quiet until now, finally spoke. “There’s something you’re all forgetting,” she said, her voice sharp. “Magic is not just a tool for your wars and your power struggles. It is woven into the land itself. If it is unraveling, then we are not just losing our spells. We are losing the world as we know it.” The council fell into stunned silence. Rael exhaled. “Then we must move quickly. Before it’s too late.”

Iron Serpent Chronicles

I concentrated on the walls, trying to see inside them. Again, as soon as I said it, even in my mind, I could see its construction. It was made up of trillions of the same kind of spider webs like my own magic. I told her what I saw. "Perfectly done. Perhaps part of you hides the magic from yourself." "Could the magic itself be hiding from me?" "I've never heard of such a thing, but, with you, I assume all things are possible." "Uh huh." Why was I so damned special? It was getting freaking annoying.

Shadows and Waltzes

Shadows and Waltzes

Magic is power. Anyone who tells you differently is fooling themselves. And with power comes prices. The question is always what the price will be. Will I be able to speak after expending my power, or will I be bedridden to ensure that everything happens the way it is supposed to?

Controlled Men, the adventure of Tom Salisbury.

Controlled Men, the adventure of Tom Salisbury.

[begging] Becoming A Student "Magic is like light made of butter. It can move in waves and can phase like radiation. At times, you can feel it's breeze and it's gentle caress but most of the time, it will just flow through you and from you. You don't control magic, magic controls you. It is fleeting, boundless and powerful yet puny. You can only pray that your resource does not deplete at any time. " "I don't understand sir, what do you mean by resource? Does it mean that magic is limited in quantity or what? Because, you just said that magic is boundless and could not be grasped within physical measures."

 The King of Beasts

The King of Beasts

She lifted her eyes and met mine, “When I look at you, I hate myself. You’re everything, I was not. You fought for yourself when I gave up. You still fight when I resigned myself to fate.” She smiled at me, but it was full of pain. Soul-shaking pain. “People say magic doesn’t exist. They don’t know. They lie. Magic exists. I saw it. I felt it. I felt it when I held my daughter in my arms for the first time. It was magic. I know it.” She touched my chest, unbothered by the fact that I was naked.

Frequently Asked Questions

I absolutely believe in the magic of books. There's something enchanting about how words on a page can transport you to another world. One of my favorite books that captures this feeling is 'The Night Circus' by Erin Morgenstern. The way she describes the circus and the magic within it is so vivid and immersive. It feels like you're right there under the big top, smelling the caramel in the air and seeing the performers in their stunning costumes. Books like this remind me that magic isn't just about spells and wands—it's about the wonder and possibility that stories can create. Another book that does this beautifully is 'Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell' by Susanna Clarke, with its intricate world of English magic and richly drawn characters. These books make me believe that magic is real, at least within the pages of a great story.
