I need my sword. Reaching behind my back, I feel the cool, smooth texture of my marking shift beneath my fingers. There’s a brief moment where the ink pulses, almost as if it’s alive, before it solidifies into the hilt of my sword. I draw it out, feeling the familiar weight settle into my hand. The blade hums with energy, a glowing blue that pulses in time with my heartbeat. This sword is mine, a part of me, born of my blood and soul. Athena’s gift, forged from my very essence.

His eyes lit up in humor. “Where is your helmet now?” I ask, as Toby parry’s the attack that Hades launched. “I don’t feel the need to have it here with me. You guys are not worth my time.” He answers. Well, that’s good. Maybe his arrogance will get to him. I swing my sword at him, actually catching his arm as he twirls. The blood slowly drips down his arm. He looks at it like an annoyance. Toby takes advantage and cuts his other arm. I can see the bone underneath that cut.

Well, maybe not the whole truth. Tres blinked. “So, like . . . there’s a real sword in there?” James nodded. “Yeah.” “Sweet! Can I see?” Tres exclaimed and jumped up from his seat. “Sure, I guess.” James laid the bag down, unzipped it, and spilled the sword onto the bed. Tres picked it up immediately. “Holy crap! This thing’s heavy,” he said as he unsheathed it and studied the shimmering blade. “Pretty cool. What’s he teaching that stuff to you for?”

Boro stood and slammed his right fist into his left palm and pressed them to his chest, saluting his new Lord. With a audible sigh of relief Lord Jetir nodded to Boro acknowledging his deference and then stood up and walked around the table. He streched out his hand, and motioned for Boro to hand him his blade. I winked, walking out. I walked with my head held high from Mayu’s room, making a stop at mine. I smiled as I picked up my Kissaki-Moroha-Zukuri katana. It was specially made just for me and to my specifications. I had always loved the idea of a double-edged sword. It quickly became one of my favorites. I grabbed one more thing before I stormed my way to my father’s office. I knew it’s where he and that fucking bastard Rokurō would be.

She shrugged irritably and said in her defense, “She was…well, I’d swear she was brown nosing for some reason.” He shrugged. “Get used to it. That one isn’t all that bad once you get past the gushing, though.” He lowered his voice and murmured in her ear, “The thing about a sword, love, is you have to know when to use it. You possess an especially powerful one. Try not to annihilate too many defenseless young things.” She sighed, feeling too old for this kind of torture. “I’m getting the impression you’re somewhat admired here.” These people surely weren’t sucking up to them to get closer to her.
