“We move. Now.”
We crept toward the final corridor. When we reached another heavy iron door, I paused, pressing my ear against it. From inside came rough voices.
Ronny.
I recognized his laugh. My hands clenched so tightly that my claws pierced my own skin. Blood dripped onto the floor, but I didn’t care.
“She’s in there,” I whispered.
Darius nodded. “Give the signal.”
“No. I’ll give it, and it’s simple,” I said.
I kicked the door with all my strength. The hinges tore free, the crash echoing through the chamber as oil-lamp light spilled out. I caught a glimpse of chains, barrels of poison, and startled rogues turning toward us.
