Under the streetlight stood a tall man, snow collecting in his dark hair. I blinked, hardly believing what I saw. I murmured, "Christopher?" Christopher Joyner turned toward me, his face lighting up despite the freezing air. His nose was red from the cold, and in his hands was a bouquet. He smiled as he walked toward me. “Just answer my damn question!” “Sure, Your Highness.” The doctor, shaken by my shout, nodded quickly. “With genetic material from both parents, I can guarantee developing a cure for Chris.” “Fine.” I exhaled in relief at his response. “But Liam…” I cut him off before he could continue. “Just remember your promise to me.” I stared into his eyes, my tone carrying a clear warning. “What I need to do next is none of your concern.”

“That’s him!” Surprised, Edward turned away and touched his earpiece. Alexander’s sigh sounded. “All right, come back now.” “Yes, sir,” Edward answered, then turned to the doctor. “About what happened tonight…” “Don’t worry! I promise I won’t tell a soul,” the doctor quickly interjected, making a swearing gesture with one hand. Edward threw him a deep look and knew the doctor would not dare to break his promise. ‘If he does, he’d be risking his own life.’
