Please choose who you want to share it with.’ Thought Sharing? The person I picked could hear Alice's thoughts, too? I looked at Mark, still in shock, and calmly touched my face. ‘I choose Mark.’ Right then, Alice's inner voice rang out again, just in time. 'Can you believe it? With just a little trick, Helen has given up on Mark all by herself?'

Derek read it aloud. All of it. Every formal sentence, every stated grievance, every carefully structured demand. He read it in the voice he used for things that required no dramatic weight because the content provided its own. Flat. Precise. The voice of someone who understood that the most dangerous thing he could do to a document designed to intimidate was to let every person in the room hear it clearly. I sat beside him and listened.

“Why would he do that?” A smirk tugged at Robert's lips again. “Don't know, boss, but I didn't d******d only the footage from inside the bank... I can use it to transcript whatever your stepmother's assistant said. It might not be a hundred percent accurate, but I think I can get most of the words he said.”

Elena read the name once. Then again. Then a third time because her brain kept refusing to process it the way you refuse to process something that restructures everything you thought you understood. She looked up from the document. "Senator Catherine Merrill," she said. Just the name. Nothing else. The way you say something out loud when you need to hear it in the room to believe it is real. The room received it in silence. Then Alexander crossed from his corner and took the document from her hands without asking. He read it himself, standing beside her, his eyes moving down the page with the controlled precision she knew by now.

Alpha Leo shouted from behind. Everyone looked at him with a surprised look. "I see he is now so interested!" Alpha Valeria muttered to himself; unfortunately, he was a bit loud, and the people around him could hear him. He opened the book and read it out as he was instructed to. He blows off the little specs of dust on the book before he starts to open up the page pages. “Just give me a minute,” he say as he starts to turn over each page meticulously. Suddenly, he seems to reach the pitch he has been looking for. “See!” he says with a high pitch- as if to tell me that the chance for him to prove himself has finally come. Then he points at a text in the book. “You can read it yourself,” he says and I start to read out loud. I read the text over and over again, about nine times before I fully understand it. The text actually agrees with Charles told me before.
