Can Kindles Play Audiobooks Novels & Stories

It made my heart flutter to watch him, and in that moment, I forgot we were ever arguing at all. “Well, I couldn’t really decide on what book to get you, since I guess we don’t talk about that kind of stuff very much. But I know you really like books, because I watch you a lot. Not in a creepy way though, I mean, I just notice things—” How sweet, I thought, gazing up at him while he fumbled for words. “Anyway, I thought you should get your pick, you know? Whatever you want. It’s a Kindle, and there’s a lifetime subscription already on it. I figured it would be useful because you’re always carrying around those heavy stacks of books and needing help with carrying them around.”

I’ve never heard of it. I’m not much of a reader of books. I’m too distractible. When the money started to come in from the farmers’ market, I got into audiobooks, though. The sound doesn’t exactly drown out the pecking voice, but I can kind of focus on the narrator, and it really helps the day go by better.

And no doubt, have hot dreams about it. It’s another book suggestion from her. I’ve just finished the last one she recommended, and honestly, I shouldn’t dive into another. Once I start reading, I lose myself completely. But this time, she’s telling me to listen to it. Audiobook. That’s new. Before I even realize what I’m doing, I click the link she sent, and in a matter of seconds, the book is purchased and playing through my home speakers. I settle back in bed, letting the narrator’s deep voice wash over me, and within moments, I realize Lucy’s sent me a stalker romance. Great.

My gaze latched onto Maeve. “It’s okay.” I caught sight of a glint near her shoe, stooped down, and picked it up. It was a strange little device that looked like a USB drive with a crystal stuck to the end of it. “What’s this?” Maeve snatched it away. “Nothing.” That didn’t sound suspicious at all. I cocked my head to one side. She tucked it into her pocket, then said, “It stores and plays audiobooks. I like to listen to them while I clean.”

Her eyes flew across the pages at record speed and yet, she can still recall every line with insane precision, every plot twist connects.
