"You think this nonsense can fool me?" Right then, chaotic footsteps echoed in the distance. Both of us turned our heads. Cade was rushing toward us with a squad of soldiers. At the critical moment, Bella suddenly twisted her wrist and turned the blade on herself. Without hesitation, she stabbed herself in the abdomen. A second before Cade reached the terrace, she kicked me off the edge. Icy lake water swallowed my body. The searing pain slowly blurred my consciousness. In the final second before my eyes closed, I saw Cade holding Bella tightly.

"We don't know anything anymore." Bella felt like she was drowning. The room tilted sideways, and strong hands caught her, Devon's hands, she thought, or maybe Ethan's, she couldn't tell. "I need to talk to him," she managed. "Not tonight." That was definitely Devon's voice, low and steady. "Tonight, you need to breathe. Tomorrow, you can fight." But what if there was nothing left to fight for? What if Marcus had already made up his mind? Bella didn't sleep.

My objective is to find a sleeping pill, not to harm Bella, but to provide her with a peaceful and restful slumber that will last forever. That’s right, Bella needs to sleep forever for me to go back to Austin. As her twin sister, it pains me to entertain this idea, but circumstances have left me with no other choice. Ben told him again. "She's dead. I know I'm smiling but I'm not joking. Your Belle is dead. She died while you watched, can't you remember? I made you watch the car she was in go up in flames." Richard ended his words with broken laughter while Ben squinted his tired eyes at him. "Belle is dead?" Alex asked no one in particular as she tried to hide her joy. "Tie her up," he ordered and Alex looked around to see who the ‘her’ was but then realized she was the only female around.

Bella stepped close to Hunter. Lifting her arms, she wrapped them around his neck, got close, put her lips near his ear and whispered, "Let's stay here for a few days." The surge of happiness that rushed inside me was uncontrollable and overwhelming. I knew she still loved me... she can not leave me. But then, her next words had all of those feelings die just as soon as they had appeared, "I want to see Damon suffer the same way he tormented me in the past."

I thought that we would be the food of those two wolves, suddenly another black wolf smaller than these two, after growling at each other without looking back, those directly went into the forest. Bella's POV. Just when I could no longer take it anymore and was about to go into oblivion, he released me suddenly and slapped me. "You are dead, Derick. Not even the gods will save you from my hands." I reeled back, falling to the floor. "D'Mathew." I gasped, coming quickly to my knees. "No. Don't move!" He didn't hear me but grabbed my wrist and twisted it hard. Then just as suddenly as it had started, his spurt of energy was spent and he fell backward onto the bed and gasped.

He wasn't just watching me; he was leading me to become the same kind of monster as him. ​I looked at the balcony door where Mike was still shouting at Lucy on the other end of the line. He didn't know that it wasn't just their relationship that would end tonight, but his entire existence.
