Then I let my wolf take control. My wolf was a huge dark night color wolf. Like any other werewolf, we share the same eyes, blue eyes. On the other hand, Earl's wolf was a brown wolf with an alpha shape, but he wasn't as big as mine. I jumped over him, attacking his weak body, but before I could squeeze him, he ditched my attack while running away like a coward toward the window. Before he could run, I jumped over him again, this time I got him locked between my claws and fangs. As I lunched a bit over his throat trying to finish him, I heard her scream from pain ‘‘Stooop... Please '' she cries out.

Thorne replies inside my mind. Stepping up to the cage, “Shut up,” I yell at the rogues. While they do not bare their necks to me, they immediately quiet down recognizing me as the Alpha of the Pack. Nodding to the guard, he opens the cage door. Both rogues are in individual cages and are in silver, cuffed to the walls. Silver prevents a wolf from communicating with their wolf, other wolves, and it prevents them from being able to shift. It also burns the skin of a wolf. I can see the burn marks on the wolves’ wrists from being cuffed.

Werewolves only change at the full moon. Only with the ceremony. But this one changes in my sitting room. There aren’t any real weapons around me; I grab a fork from the breakfast table. The werewolf’s jaws snap at my face as I dodge backward. He manages to grab me, opens his mouth to roar, and I jam the fork into his mouth, into his soft palate. And then he bites down and my arm comes away.

And at the head of the pack was the beast himself. Cane didn't arrive on his bike this time. He arrived on four paws, a massive, silver-white wolf that looked like he’d been carved from moonlight and rage. He was nearly the size of a grizzly, his fur bristling with static. But it was his head that caught my eye. He was wearing custom-made, heavy-duty ballistic ear-guards, the kind used by military canines in high-noise environments, modified with lead-lined padding to block the specific frequency of the pulse.

He smiles, “You want to run with me?” Her wolf’s grey eyes look up at him, and her tongue lolls out of her smiling muzzle. “I’ll take that as a yes.” He grins, tossing his own clothes on top of hers and shifting. The two brindled wolves take a moment to get acquainted again. Her wolf is a mottled mix of browns and greys, with some white and black, her face is a pale grey, matching her eyes that are the only thing that doesn’t change.

"I don't want to have to watch both you and the werewolves while we're fighting." Gurley let out a shrill whistle to get everyone's attention. "Will you all shut up? You're arguing so loud that I'm surprised that the wolves haven't heard us yet." A crack of a stick being broken behind them got James' attention. "Too late, they've already heard us," he called out as he grabbed his shotgun, firing at the first wolf that broke out of the woods. The blast caught the werewolf full in the face right as it jumped, causing it to flip backwards as the body continued to move forward. James put another slug into the wolf's skull to make sure that it stayed down before focusing on the next one right beh

My wolf, whose name I had just learned, was nearly as tall as him, and she had raven-black fur and golden-brown eyes that complemented his mix of black, white, and brown fur. Before I could fully comprehend what was happening, we had closed the distance between us and our wolves were caressing against each other. Maureen purred as he sank his teeth into her neck. The bite was painful but he was so gentle with her that she didn't even feel it. I felt our bond snap and my heart clenched tightly. I wanted to scream caution to her that we didn't know this man yet, and it was foolish to let ourselves be marked by him, but she marked him back.

Only one wolf had fur as black as the night itself and orbs red as burning coal, Vulcan, Azriel's wolf. What was he doing here? How did he.... Her thoughts were interrupted when another vicious growl echoed in the air followed by the rogue's attack on Vulcan. Vulcan snarled in response and dodged the rogue by jumping to the side. The rogue let out another dark growl but before he could turn around, Vulcan tackled him to the ground. He gave him no time to recover and aimed at his neck. His sharp canine pierced into his throat and tore it off in the twinkling of an eye. Blood flew out like rain.

’ I tell him. When I approach her, she lets out a soft whimper before leaping towards me. I swiftly catch her in my arms, feeling her grip tighten around my neck as she begins to suck on it. It takes me a moment to realize that she is marking me and whispers “Mate”, leaving her scent on me without my initial awareness. It's important to note that wolves don't suck blood during mating; instead, they bite. Not only that, but it suddenly dawns on me that she must be part vampire, which explains why she has always worn sunglasses and stood out from the crowd.

I said as I looked back down at what was before me. Whoever had made this had set it up into two sections, a pair of front claws and a type of muzzle. However, unlike traditional muzzles, this did not prevent an animal bite but enhanced it. It was all connected like some kind of harness that seemed to be built to withstand a werewolf transformation.
