Clenching his teeth, Douglass gave Mauve a weak smile. "Oh come on! You know very well that this is not the best time for riddles!" Mauve placed her cold hands on Douglass's cheeks, squeezing them; forcing him to look her in the eye. With an unpleasant grin, Douglass remained emotionless. He put his hands behind him and did as he was forced to— stare into Mauve's eyes. "My dear, listen carefully then!" He said through his clenched teeth. "If the girl has Adolphus's scent then she'd know where the werewolf is. Remember, Adolphus is the wolf that always came to rescue your dear niece.

His wolf form seemed momentarily startled by my action, its eyes widening in surprise. It tilted its head, a curious expression evident on its lupine face. My eyes widened in disbelief. Even though Thaddeus Wolf was out, it was clear he still had control over the situation. It was as if he was a puppet master, pulling the strings from the shadows.

He lost balance, and I hit him with my front paws, sending him sprawling on his back. I was about to claw at him again when I paused. The wolf was foaming at the mouth, and when he bared his teeth at me, I noticed that they were black, rotting in his mouth. Also, his pupils were wide, almost covering his entire eyeballs. Warning bells rang in my head. It seemed impossible, but the wolf looked like he was suffering from the same symptoms of mania the wolves had experienced back in New York. But how? The wolf jerked, trying to bite me with his rotten teeth. I snarled and swiped with a heavy paw, knocking him unconscious.

Large two shiny black jeeps are parked outside the castle's door so there will be no need to walk to the pack gates making it easier to load the suitcases.
