“Please, you’re scaring me.”
She touches my cheek, then moves her hand lower, over my neck.
“You used to hold my hand,” she whispers. “You used to smile when I read to you.”
“That was friendship,” I cry. “Not this. Please... stop.”
But she doesn’t stop.
Her hand slides to my shoulder, her fingers brushing my bare skin. I twist my body, trying to escape, but I can’t move. I feel panic rise in my chest like a scream.
“Please don’t touch me!” I cry, louder now. “Help! Somebody... Help!”
