“Busy. You’re not helping.” He didn’t answer. He continued watching me like I was a puzzle with missing pieces. I hated that look. It made me feel... readable. When I stood again, he stepped closer, and I had a feeling that he was testing the boundaries. “You don’t trust me,” he said. “Nope.” “Why?” “I trust my gut,” I said simply. “And right now, my gut says you’re trouble.” His grin widened. “Trouble can be fun.” “Trouble burns,” I said. “And I’m really good at setting things on fire.”

It looked like I was wrong because something was definitely bothering her, and despite having asked her twice, she still insisted it was only work. I didn’t think it was that, though. I had no reason to doubt her, and her position did come with a lot of stress, but my gut was still yelling that there was something more to it. I learned from experience to trust my gut. It was a perceptive fucker.

I said to her as Ben emerged from the room. "Rori, are you okay?" he asked. "No." I admitted faltering slightly as he moved towards me. "The moon goddess told me once to trust myself and my gut." It’s because they’re hiding something.” Her words sank into me like a stone in water. “You feel watched?” she asked. I nodded slowly. “Yes. All the time. Like there are eyes I can’t see. And the smiles,they feel fake. Too perfect. Too practiced.” She reached out and placed a wrinkled hand over mine. “Then trust your gut, Elena. It’s a powerful thing. It’s led you through worse.”

He said with annoyance. The figure seemingly ignored him, as they turned the fourth card over. “Soon, your uneasiness and insecurity will be at its most powerful. A feeling in your gut is telling you to be cautious, all is not as it seems. Something doesn't feel right for you, listen to this feeling. Delay any decisions and actions, until you have the answers you need.” Fenryn nodded his head, though whether he actually believed his fortune or not, was not noticeable at all.

I heard my father's voice in my head. Always trust your gut, little one. If your gut says run, then run as hard as you can and never look back. If it says stand your ground, trust the person in front of you, then listen to your gut. Trust yourself. My gut was saying stay.

I keep having this gut feeling that she would steal them away and that is just something I cannot let happen. I always trust my gut feeling because it is never wrong.
